- 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, washer/dryer, sleeps 6

This oceanfront property sits on 14 acres at the end of a ¼-mile long private drive. Sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean, headlands, and islands -- and no other house in sight in any direction. There are over 700 feet of varied ocean frontage, including coves, rocks, tidal pools and a pebble beach – with a footbridge and walking path connecting all.

Each of three bedrooms has a full ocean view. There are two full baths, kitchen, living, dining and laundry rooms. The entire house was repainted and redecorated in 2003.

Property is between St. Andrews and Saint John, and about a ½ hour from each. It is also 6 miles from a provincial park with a mile long sand beach for swimming and miles of trails for hiking. Several excellent seafood restaurants nearby, and a small town for essentials is a ten minute drive.

Minimum rental period is one week.

Great location, great house, perfect getaway

It's been about 9 months since we stayed at this property in Pocologan, so we've had plenty of time to digest the entire vacation, which I think is necessary before any review. My wife and I constantly bring up this vacation in conversation, and without a doubt, it was one of the best, most relaxing we've ever had. As a point of reference, my wife and I are both 30 and with this vacation, we were looking for a very low-key getaway. We live in Central Pennsylvania, about a 12-hour car ride from New Brunswick. We drove the long haul to Pocologan with our dog (thanks to the owner for being accommodating), and it was absolutely worth it. This house is very private and remote, which is exactly what we were looking for. Like most other reviewers, we spent most of the week at the house... reading, doing jigsaw puzzles, sitting on the decks, exploring the property, walking along the rock beach, BBQing, and watching several old VHS and DVD movies that are at the house. We did venture out to Saint John (a very cool little city), but we barely scratched the surface of all the things we could have done. For those that want to jam-pack their schedule with things to do, there are plenty of options. We mostly just wanted to unwind, and this property is perfect for that. There was another reviewer that mentioned something about the glass doors being hazy. We don't agree. The view from every room was amazing. And I think it's unfair to rate the house lower because of that, especially at this price point. There is, as others have mentioned, a fishing operation off-shore, unseen in the photos. But in our opinion, this was not a disruption at all. The boats are quite far away. And if anything, it actually made the view more interesting, as we could watch them come and go. The entire experience staying at this house was great. Another big advantage to this property is that the owner is quick to answer your questions and help you with anything you need. We've stayed in other rentals over the years, and it is 100x nicer to have an owner who truly cares about your stay. If you're looking for a quiet getaway with no hassle, we absolutely recommend this property! You won't regret it.

What a wonderful place! Thanks so much for sharing your little piece of heaven with the rest of us :) The house was very homey and comfortable and had everything we needed. The setting is just the most amazing view in the world in a great quiet little town. We traveled 100 miles north east for a day trip and it was so easy to get around up there. We will most surely be back if you will have us :)

What a great first time cottage rental experience!
The short drive into the property off the hwy, is partially secluded so that when you finally reach the cottage, and get your first glimps of the Bay of Fundy it literally takes your breath away!
The owners have made this an awesome space for those that want a quiet retreat that feels like thier own. They have thought of the little touches..., all manner of cooking utensiles and implements, lovely "cottage" rooms each with thier own "theme", towels, BBQ, books, games, plenty of chairs on BOTH ocean view decks...there was really, nothing to want for. The property is well maintained and clean and the owners have left information for the travellers about events in the community, services and areas to explore. We must warn you however about one location in particular (which Doug thankfully gave us a heads up on) - the "evil pie lady" who is a mere 6 km down the Hwy...the pies and jams which are FANTASTIC, can be purchased for $6.00 and up, are good for at least 5 extra "holiday" pounds!!!

For those who truly would like an outdoor, nature filled, oceanside, "decompressing" vacation, this is definately the place. Thank you again to the owners for making this special retreat available to others. It was one of the most relaxing vacations we've ever taken.

To say that we enjoyed our week at this beautiful house is a huge understatement. The house itself was roomy, homey, and immaculate. The kitchen was very well-stocked with pots and pans, plates, cups, cutlery, etc... and so great that it had two large bathrooms - no squabbling! The grounds were so tidy and perfect: we loved the hiking trails around the house and over the bridge. The total and complete privacy, the crash of the waves on the beach, pulling the rocks as the tide went out, just watching the lovely Atlantic... incredibly relaxing. So much so that we chose to forego many of the daytrips we had planned in favour of staying "home."

Our 12-year old son couldn't get enough of climbing all over the beach and rock faces, rockhounding, and checking out the tidepools. Our 14-year old daughter has seldom been happier than she was out there with her Nikon, she took over a thousand images!

The wildlife in the water and around the house was very obliging; we saw bald eagles (3!) every day, many times... at least one seal, 3 otters playing fairly close to shore, countless crabs on the beach and in the tide pools, a jelly, a hummingbird, and countless ducks.

We highly recommend the short drive to St. Andrews - what a beautiful town, and great shopping! We visited Saint John twice, and St. Stephen (mmmm, Ganong chocolate!). Last but not least the Blueberry People down the road - the Blueberry pies are amazing and fresh and warm... we bought jam to bring home - soo yummy. Tastes just like the pies!

The weather was incredible. It was sunny and warm 90% of the time. We had one rainy day (and one stormy night), which we took as an opportunity to visit the Museum and Mall in Saint John. There were a couple of days with foggy mornings... perfect for pictures, though! It was just the right temperature at night - warm enough to leave the windows open, but cool enough to stay under the blankets. It was a great change from the heat and humidity in Ontario.

My husband and I were most surprised at the total and utter peacefulness of our week at this house. It allowed us to truly step outside of our lives for a time, and that is priceless. Would recommend it to anyone. We hope to be lucky enough to book this wonderful vacation home again in the near future!

Wonderful Vacation Rental

We had a wonderful time visiting this beautiful cottage in Pocologan, NB, Canada. Pocologan is a secluded village with not much to it. But nearby are so many wonderful sites to visit; Fundy Trail, St. John, kayaking, hiking, golfing, Fredericton - TreeGo (zip line and obstacle course in the trees), whale watching, St. Andrews, New River Beach is only a 5 minute drive...wonderful beach with warmer waters to swim in and a wonderful nature trail that is a must see! St. George is the nearest town for your groceries and liquor store (20 minute drive). The Esso Station near the house has great prices on delicious meats!

We lucked out with the weather...75 degrees (fahrenheit), sunny and clear. The last two days were foggy, but were enjoyable and beautiful as well. We spotted a huge black bear on the cliffs from the back porch as well as 3 bald eagles. There is a wonderful trail that leads you to a picnic table which is exquisite!

Overall, this was one of the most relaxing and best getaways that I have had in a long time. Truly enjoyable. We would definitely visit again!
