Wonderful Cape Charles is a real up and coming vacation destination. With the building of Bay Creek Golf Club, many more vacationers have discovered this quaint little community nestled against the Chesapeake Bay. Golf is not the only sport in town. Beach combing, fishing, boating, biking, birding, nature walking, antiquing or just being lazy is another favorite sport of vacationers. You are one bridge and one lovely drive away from all the excitement you might want, but on this side of the bridge, it peaceful and the pace slower. If you want to try a different experience from the NC/SC beaches, this might be just the thing for you. The beach space is not as crowded and there are more antique stores than t-shirt/novelty stores. Give us a try!

If you are coming from anywhere North of Baltimore and planned on the outer banks, when you head down Hwy 13 and see the sign for Cape Charles..... and still have another 2-3 hour drive. Winter Season: Are you tired of brutal North East winters, consider heading South this year. I must admit, Cape Charles does get four seasons. Our fall is drop dead gorgeous and the winter is tempered by the Bay and Atlantic. Although we do get a number of days that drop below freezing, most of our winter ranges in the low to mid 40’s and does not last nearly as long. Some days hit the 60's. Spring comes quickly and we return to some really nice days. We might not be as warm as Florida, but we do have a much closer resemblance of Christmas with a potential for snow, all 10 days of it. Come down and visit our community, you might fall in love and want to stay.

FISHING: This is a great fishing area. If you are willing to take mid week rentals and will work out specials during winter and early spring. You need a great base to fish from and I would like to fill the week. call for pricing

Golf Details: To make advance Tee Times at either the Palmer or Nicklaus Bay Creek courses, call (757) 331-9000. Bay Creek is a golf cart ride away or a couple minutes by car. The Arnold Palmer Signature Course at Bay Creek may be the most spectacular golf course on the East Coast! With four holes on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay, eight holes on Old Plantation Creek and several holes framed by sand-dunes and large beach bunkers, the Palmer Course is a nature lover's delight. The 7,204 yard championship course pampers its golfers with smooth A-4 greens and perfectly manicured Tifway Bermuda fairways. Five strategically placed sets of tees are guaranteed to make golf fun and challenging for players of all skill levels. If Jack Nicklaus’ mark on the 20th Century was his golf game, his legacy in the 21st Century will be his golf course design. Breathtaking views of the Chesapeake Bay and Old Plantation Creek and acres of natural beauty await.

You can't find a better deal

This gorgeous house is the epitome of relaxation. Two rocking chairs and a porch swing sit on the front porch, begging you to take some time to relax. As you sit, the hospitable people of Cape Charles walk by and almost always wave and say hello. The back porch is screened in and has a lovely hot tub. The house is gorgeously decorated and there are plenty of comfortable places to sit. I was in love with the hardwood floors and the stair case. The beds are great, although the fourth and smallest bedroom which has a twin in it does not have a door on it, and one of the other rooms has some water damage on the ceiling. We also had some storage issues in the kitchen, but nothing that couldn't be solved. If we weren't such wanderers, going back to "Gone to the beach" would be at the top of my list. The beach that is about a 10 minute walk, or 3 to 5 minute golf cart ride away is calm, quiet, and great for families or someone like myself who likes to just sit in the sun and then just stick the chair right in the water. If you are looking for waves, you will need to find a different location, because you wont find them there. Make sure you bring your fishing rods, because the blues and flounder are almost jumping out of the water on the fishing pier (which you don't need a license for). You are only about 15 minutes from the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, which takes you almost anywhere you could want to go. Make sure you take a ride into town and visit the great little market, the bait shop, and the local restaurant (on the golf cart). While your at it, cruise up and down the Cape Charles streets and see the lovely old houses. You can't help but go home and be relaxed.

The house is lovely! It was the perfect getaway for our families. There were a few minor things, like the internet didn't work, the house phone didn't seem to get incoming calls, and the door was missing to one of the bedrooms, but none of these things marred a wonderful week in a beautiful old home. The beach was uncrowded and private, and the golf cart made tootling around town a breeze and so much fun! If you are looking for a retreat from the world, Cape Charles is the place!
