Breathtaking view of the Lake! Very convenient to lake, restaurant, and general store! All in walking distance! Tie your boat up on the shore and enjoy the lake swimming, skiing, wakeboarding, fishing, etc. Mobile home is totally remodeled, with new kitchen appliances, washer and dryer. View from kitchen is inspiring! Ten-by-25-foot covered porch is great for entertaining. Stair steps off of deck go to the private road down, then across Wayah road, then to the lake. The sunset views are awesome from this property! A great relaxing place to enjoy the water and views of Nantahala on a budget!
Nothing fancy here, but it's a great value with stellar views of the lake. The place grew on us every day we were there (We never stayed in a trailer home before)... But we didn't need anything more, that's for sure.
King size bed was wonderful... No review on the double bed as we didn't use it. Hot tub was soothing in the evenings. We may well rent it again next year...
If you love the view of water and mountains this is the place! The walk to and from the lake was great exercise. Though the ladders into the lake were fine for us, they may not be ideal for seniors who have trouble with balance or heights... however there is a marina with large docks only one block away where anyone can swim from. The pristine pureness of the lake made us want to stay in for a l-o-n-g swims. We also enjoyed being up on the deck which was at least 50 feet above the level of the lake. Just watching the mist between the mountains and rain in the distant mountains was so relaxing. No TV, cell phone or internet.... which turned out to be heavenly. (There is a land line and there may have been cable TV but we could not figure it out.) The only minor challenge for us was the fact that we personally each drink a lot of water (vs soda or whatever).... but the tap water tasted a bit too metallic for what we were used to so we too a walk to the marina where they were happy to fill our two one gallon jugs. Turns out the water is rich in iron. So if you are a water connoisseur bring plenty of drinking water. Other than that the cabin was well outfitted with everything except of course one's own food. Overall, the view, air, clean lake water, nature abound was priceless!
Very clean, redone trailer with nice deck, hot tub and wonderful view of the lake. King bed was very comfortable. Easy walk to the lake, marina and grill. The owner provided great customer service. We will probably rent it again sometime.
Nantahala is a lot of fun. We went rafting twice, did some hiking, sat around the campfire, did a little swimming and some fishing. There's a lot to do that's very convenient (10 - 30 minute drive) to the property.
It's an older mobile home that has been redone. The place is fine, it looks good the larger bedroom has a comfortable queen bed, but the smaller bedroom has a rather uncomfortable double bed. It's probably great for a family on a budget, but not the best for 2 couples. The views from the deck are great and it has a firepit. Alex (the owner) is very pleasant to talk to and said that next year they were going to put in a hot tub.
It's way up on a hill and the 2 ways up are not for the faint of heart. You definitely could not get a sports car up there. It is within an easy walk to a local restaurant where they rent pontoon boats and a small beach, and you can get down to the lake at several different places that are a short walk.
For the value I would recommend this property to a friend, but keep in mind it is an older trailer and isn't the greatest. It is clean though. The furniture is inexpensive and not the most comfortable. It has a TV and a VCR, but we didn't get any channels. We didn't try too hard. All in all, I think we'd go back if we were trying to save money on lodging.
From Andrews 15miles up Junalaska road then right onto Wayah. 1/2 mile to Blueberry Ridge take a left. Drive up Blueberry Ridge and you will see my place on the right side overlooking Lake Nantahala. From Franklin 22 miles up Wayah Road until Blueberry Ridge take a right. Drive up Blueberry Ridge and you will see my place on the right side overlooking Lake Nantahala.
