Randall and Bess Morehouse maintain their home base in Hilo, Hawaii; but love to visit Colorado as often as possible. They have a son in Denver and enjoy visiting the city, the mountains, and other sites in the area.
The moment we saw this house, we knew it was the 'one'. Sitting on a slope, it catches gentle breezes and has a lovely view of the town of Golden. The front yard consists of terraces of wildflowers in the spring and summer, and the back yard - with no neighbors behind - is more private than most.
The neighborhood, which includes 100 year-old homes, is quiet and charming. We have made many improvements to the property since we purchased it, including stabilizing the foundation, painting interior and exterior, installing new windows, new roofing, and new appliances; including range, washer/dryer, A/C and furnace. We love to walk into town and to stroll along scenic clear creek on a regular basis.
Our guests tell us they love to relax and enjoy the view from our new front porch. In the winter, snowy hillsides and city lights are in view, and in the summer July 4 fireworks can be enjoyed. Although the house is an easy 10 minute walk from the Golden mainstreet area, wildlife including deer and fox occasionally visit the property.
