Osprey Hill is a charming hillside cottage with river canyon views, situated privately among the treetops overlooking the Vacation Beach area of Guerneville established in the 1920s. This quiet comunity is about a mile from downtown Guerneville at Neeley Rd and River Ln. There is a great neighborhood beach and easy access to the river two blocks away. Down river a few blocks is Summer Bridge, a short cut to Monte Rio and the ocean.
There is a lovely new hot tub on one deck, and a lanai that's perfect for your morning coffee or relaxing in the hammock after a day in the river. The wonderful neighborhood beach is a five minute walk away. Bring your floats and inflatable rafts!
The furnishings are all upscale yet comfortable. With two bedrooms, each with its own bath, it is a great place for two couples to get away. There is a natural redwood bar at the fully equipped kitchen, a perfect place to visit and entertain while the cook creates. The open living area is very comfortable with a quality stereo and TV. There is Wireless Internet Access and long distance telephone service.
Come explore the Russian River area with all of it's wineries, hiking and close proximity to the coast. Korbel winery is right down River Rd. Fine dining at Applewood Inn and Restaurant about a mile away. The huge old grove redwoods at Armstrong Woods are about 15 minutes away. Bodega Bay and the scenic coastline is about 30 minutes drive. Don't miss the antiquing to be done in Healdsburg and Sabastopol.

My family, consisting of myself, husband and two boys, ages 10 and 15, stayed here in July for a portion of our two week vacation around Northern California and were so pleasantly surprised and happy that we were able to stay in this super cozy vintage cottage! Initially we were a little taken aback by some of the first people we encountered in the area (a woman with tattoos, leather bustier, studded dog collar, and blue hair staying nearby) and later learned that this area is a bit of a haven for people who want to 'drop out' of society but that didn't deter us, and we weren't bothered by anyone so that was a non issue. The long walk up the many stairs also was,at first, a little worrying (I have a bum knee) but that too turned out not to be too much of a problem (having a strapping 15 year old boy to carry bags also helped a lot!). At the end of our stay, none of us wanted to leave! The cottage's decoration was spot on (I'm in the design field) for a 1930's cottage with Pottery Barn colors and quality furniture (especially the super comfortable mattresses...Memory foam) and accessories. High thread count sheets, good down filled pillows, new TV plus sound system with IPod hook up available, the hot tub (which was perfect after a day of activities), small but functional and cute kitchen, great balcony for morning coffee, and the two bathrooms was just perfect for us! Once we had 'moved in' the place had such a great energy! My husband slept in which he never does and even my 10 year old loved the place! It was great having access to the washer-dryer which was downstairs in the laundry room (complete with laundry detergent...I had brought my own but it is good for those who don't). There were also blow up rafts available and a kayak for taking down to the beach down by the river. The price of this place is reasonable as well considering it has two bathrooms, which was such a plus for having our two boys sharing the smaller bedroom. The cottage had everything and anything one could want in vacation rental (I have stayed in many and this one is great!). My only suggestion would be to try to figure out a way to put some screens on the vintage windows and possibly a Phantom screen on the French doors. There were screens in some of the windows and not on others and at night, we had some Mosquitos coming in so we had to keep some windows closed (it was warm during the day and no A/C that we could find). I would highly recommend this rental! Super cozy and clean!
We enjoyed a long weekend at Osprey Hill. Cosy living room, comfortable beds, well-appointed kitchen and great location. We particularly liked the side porch with squirrel-view vista and the assorted collection of pictures and mirrors; we even got to enjoy the hike up the stairs and the quirky microwave--"baking potatoes" seemed to work best as a general setting. Looking forward to coming back someday.
