Welcome to Natal, one of Brazil most iconic travel destinations and home to an amazing array of sights, activities and events. Even first time visitors to Natal will quickly be enthralled by how fun and fascinating Natal really can be. For those looking a glimpse of the real Brazil, or just a fun night out, Natal mixes old world charm with a modern and vibrant night life.
Just a few years ago this far-flung northern Brazilian city was a speck on the map reserved mainly for intrepid travelers and sand freaks. But today, trendy bars and restaurants have sprouted in huge numbers to cater to the tourism demand. What do they come here for? The sand and the sea.
It’s hard not to notice the sand in Natal. It blows along the streets, builds up in little piles against buildings, and covers the entire landscape just outside the city limits. It is the immense sand dunes that have put Natal on the travel map. The dunes are massive, stretching for miles in all directions and offering weeks of fun exploration via the ubiquitous dune buggies that zip around the region.
But there are also great beaches in Natal, and some spectacular snorkeling at Maracajau. Outdoor enthusiasts will find plenty to do here, from sand boarding to surfing and sailing. Head down the coast a few minutes and a stunning coastline with hundreds of empty beaches dotted with traditional fishing villages awaits. This corner of Brazil is a real gem that is still relatively untapped by Western tourism.
** We fully support Natal's effort to end sexual tourism. **

Guestbook comments from the owner
Here's the feedback you asked for concerning our stay in Ponta Negra.
1) The location is great. The beach is accessible, as well as the local shops and restaurants. The bakery just down the street (walk out front, turn left, a few hundred yards, right side of the street)is excellent. I think we had breakfast there everyday.
2) The two bedrooms and two bathrooms are great for a family. Everyone had space and we weren't cramped like a hotel room.
3) The view of the beach is excellent.
4) Although we had to work through the language barrier, the staff was very helpful.

I'm a native of Washington DC with a sense of adventure, and lover of culture. My business partner is a sun loving Brazilian. We've always wanted to share the beautiful things we've discovered in life. Here's our opportunity to share our apartment home with you and your family.
The prime location next to the beach, nightlife, and public transportation were the draw ... while still seeming to be away from it all.
You will enjoy the comfort of the feeling of being at home, with hotel amenities. You'll feel like part of the neighborhood as you stroll to the restaurants, neighborhoods, and other establishments that make up Ponta Negra.
