This is our 4th summer vacation here, and we are already looking forward to our 5th. We can't imagine a more peaceful place to spend 2 weeks. The house is absolutely beautiful, and the location is perfect. We enjoyed kyacking out back, hiking up Blue Hill Mt, the Tennis Preserve, Kingdom Woods Conservation Area, and Caterpillar Hill, and just relaxing on the deck and out on the rocks in back of the house. The town of Stonington is charming. The Farmer's Market on Friday mornings offers great treats, such as home baked cinnamon bread (great for making french toast in the fully stocked kitchen.) For good eats, nothing beats Lily's, and it is just up the drive. If you go to Lily's for dinner, make sure you get there early, as Kyra sells out of a lot of her specials quickly. Carter's Seafood, off Oceanville Rd is the place to go for scallops, shrimp, lobster, and other fresh, off the boat seafood. We highly recommend taking a private boat tour with Renee Sewall, aboard her lobster boat, "Rhythm & Tyme". Renee took us to a gorgeous island with some of the best views we've ever seen, and then took us to see seals lounging on rocks. This made for great picture taking. Then, Renee took us with her to haul in her lobster traps. We could go on and on, but suffice it to say, we have never had such a wonderful vacation as we have here at Christa's home in Stonington, Maine. It is the perfect place to see the sunrise in the morning and the sunset at night. Til next time, Beth and Lorraine.
