Deceptive

Hayden Lake is one of the most beautiful lakes we have visited. We very much enjoyed the surroundings and kayaking on the lake. Tremendous fun fishing off the dock and my son caught his first fish there. However, the cabin has many issues. First is the driveway. It is straight down a mountainside with no where to turn around even at the end. You must back up the driveway to get out. When it rains (3/4 of the time we were there) the driveway now turns to mud. Kinda like thick Alabama mud. This makes it impossible to park there so you must hike down with all of your belongings to the cabin every time you leave. Do NOT park at the neighboring parking space (a very nice spot) as the neighbors are very rude about this particular spot. You would think it was made of gold. We tried to remedy this problem with the owner however nothing was done about it. What's unreasonable about it is that the neighbors were only there for about three days out of our two weeks. The dock was beautiful and we enjoyed many hours sitting and watching the wildlife. However, there is no beach area again due to too much rain. The beautiful picnic table on the grass does not exist. It might be on the deck. The cabin states it sleeps eight which is true. However, you will have no place to sit your guests as the couch sits 4-5. No dishwasher, washer and dryer, toaster (only toaster oven), or microwave. The profile doesn't say that it has these items, but I think that it needs to be mentioned. The one bathroom becomes a problem for five people after a couple of days. The kitchen is very nice but very small. We had a very hard time storing enough food for our group of 5. Very little counter space. The cabin leaks when it rains in the kitchen, downstairs bedroom and stairwell. Our stay was nice but the size of the cabin is much too small for a long stay or for a large family. In my opinion, this cabin would be perfect for romantic getaway or sight seeing trips.

Owner's Response: WOW! What can I say.
First we don't condone tresspassing as this family thought appropriate. They sound upset that my neighbor wouldn't allow them to park their large pulled storage trailer on his property. They forget to mention that they were bringing it when they booked the cabin. We have room for two cars to park and generally most would inquire about additional space if needed.
If only I could predict the weather. This was one of the wettest springs in history through-out the Nortwest. Of course the road may get muddy, of course the water level was high.
I don't have a helipad, floor wamers in the bath room or a tanning bed. I can only post what the cabin has to offer and not what it doesn't have.
Complainers like to complain about most things and then sometimes about all things.
The lake is beautiful, the dock is new, the kitchen and bath room remodeled, costing over $22000,00.
I am supprised that the first fish the little boy caught wasn't mentioned as being too small and not a keeper which ruined his experience.
This family's reveiw is what is DECEPTIVE, not the cabin's posting.
