Guestbook comments from the owner

(from our guest journal, a recent returning guest wrote...) "Jacob and I have now been to Camp Garoga 4 times. We have come to see this place like our own cabin in the woods. We had considered buying a cabin in the Adirondacks some time back, but was worried about the expenses. Once we found Camp Garoga, we decided that buying a cabin wasn't necessary. We already have one! We call when our schedule is open, and the place is waiting for us. It is always clean and it feels like they went out of their way to make us feel like we were coming home again. We love it, and will see you again soon." Jacob and Gabbie

Peaceful, relaxing getaway

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I stayed at Camp Garoga during the week of Aug.31. It was by far the best "getaway" we've had! The property is spotless, welcoming and comfortable. Everthing about it speaks relaxation. The Adirondack decour and accents made us feel right at home immediately. Sitting by the firepit every night, roasting marshmallows was absolutely wonderful! The peace of the surrounding woods added to our stressfree stay. The kitchen was well stocked w/all you need to prepare meals and all the furnishings throughout were very comfortable. Chris was a wonderful host, spending some time visiting w/us but allowing us plenty of privacy as well.
We climbed a few mountain trails in the area and walked thru the wooded trails in the back of the house. We shopped in Saratoga Springs and just had plenty of relaxation time.
Thank you Chris and Dan for providing such a wonderful vacation spot!
We will return in 2010!

Just simply perfect!

My wife and three children (6,4 and 9 mos) and I all had a fantastic stay! We arrived later in the afternoon to this clean and cozy cabin. We loved every minute of it from the family time spent walking the wooded trails and playing in the spacious backyard to relaxing by the fire in the evening and lounging in the hot tub after the kids went to bed. We really couldn't have asked for a better stay. The cabin had everything we needed and more. Chris did a wonderful job of making us feel welcome and creating a warm and relaxing atmosphere. We will definitely stay again next time we pass through the area and have already recommended the cabin to our friends!

Such a great getaway!

We had high expectations of Camp Garoga based on pictures and reviews online, and we were not disappointed! The cabin is beautiful...feels like a home away from home, and it is clean as a whistle. Chris, our host, met us upon arrival and made sure we had everything we needed, and personally delivered us firewood that afternoon. The kitchen has stainless steel appliances and a nice cookware set, but the cabin decor does a wonderful job of maintaining a cozy rustic vibe. I cannot recommend this place highly enough! We enjoyed several hikes to some of the many nearby lakes, and returned to Garoga for relaxation, hot tubbing (moose cabin side), and campfires. We will definitely be back!

Very Nice!

  • 5 of 5
I didn't write this review sooner because my wife and I had been out of town quite a bit even after we left Camp Garoga and went south back into Virginia & Tennessee. The cabin was very nice. It was very quiet and very nicely decorated. Although we spent a lot of time sight-seeing, the cabin was a very relaxing place to come back home to. There is a new grill out back, although we didn't get a chance to grill out. The screened-in porch had a table and chairs and is a great place to eat breakfast in the morning...or dinner in the evening. Chris was very accommodating, and even though we never met face-to-face, he was very helpful in making our stay a nice one!

Amazing!

This was our second time staying at the cabin. We stayed there last February and loved it! This time was just as great. They have done a fantastic job creating a warm and home like feel to the cabin. The agent's personal touch can be seen and felt through out. The gas fire place and lights will magically be on some nights when you are out late. There are custom wood carvings and furniture that are unique to the cabins and give you that "home" feeling as well. I don't want to praise the place too much because then reservations may become limited. But honestly, this is a great place to just get away and relax. Thank you guys
