Photos and Description of the Trenton vacation cottage rental - 4 BR, 2 BA, Sleeps 9.

Traditional Downeast oceanfront cottage with large deck right over the beach. Tastefully decorated and very comfortable with high speed internet, basic cable TV and DVD/VCR. The first floor master bedroom has a king bed and water views. Two second floor guest rooms, each with a queen bed and spectacular ocean views. The fourth bedroom sleeps three on a double futon and single bed, and is great for kids. Two full baths and washer/dryer. Sunny kitchen has new appliances and is fully furnished with tableware and pots and pans. There's a picnic table and gas grill for outdoor dining, an outdoor shower (warm water) to rinse off after a swim or run and a hammock for two. The deck overlooks Western Bay and Cadillac Mtn. Gather mussels for dinner on the long pebbly beach, which is also great for walks at low tide. The bay is very calm and good for swimming with abundant wildlife. Evenings offer a sky full of stars and meteors.

Located just minutes from Mount Desert Island, Trenton is off the beaten path and offers all the natural beauty of Downeast Maine without the crowds, traffic or bustle of more tourist-heavy towns like Bar Harbor. Western Bay is sheltered and shallow, so it provides ideal swimming conditions for kids in water that's just a little a bit warmer than most of the area. Acadia National Park and the towns of MDI (Bar Harbor, Southwest Harbor, Northeast Harbor, Somesville) are a ten to 20 minute drive away. Locally, there are several mini-golf parks and water slides that kids enjoy.
