Fantastic Vacation spot

Even in the Winter (Christmas week), the house in South Rockland was fantastic! Obviously, even from the pics in this rental listing one can see that it's ON the harbor, but I had fun doing the 5 sec. count of the lighthouse flashes with guests during our week.
We didn't need anything for our visit; everything you can think of was there (including Lobster pots; for cooking, that is) and binoculars to see the passages of the Vinalhaven Ferry.
Town, (bakeries, 2nd Read bookstore/coffee shop) and the Farnsworth were all about a 3 block walk using the "Boardwalk" across the street.
Hope to return next year (again!)

Very nice place. Wonderful view! It was also very convenient to two great restaurants The Boathouse and Amalfi's. They were both just across the street. Downtown and its shops and restaurants are within a 5 minute or so walk. The property is well maintained and very adequately furnished with everything you might need, including coffee, spices, toilet paper, paper towels, detergent, etc. A welcome bottle of wine as well as a pot of beautiful flowers made us feel very welcome. My only suggestions for improvements would be a little bit softer pillows and "real beds downstairs instead of a futon and air mattress. Otherwise, everything was absolutely great!
