Falmouth boasts 35 miles of coastline with many scenic drives along the ocean. An area of natural beauty, there are numerous lovely beaches and and salt water ponds to be seen off Vineyard Sound and Buzzard's Bay. Activities in the area include, swimming, fishing, walking, boating, windsurfing, tennis, antiquing, shopping and sightseeing. Two ferries (Falmouth Harbor and Woods Hole) run daily to Martha's Vineyard, 4 miles away, and Hyannisport, the largest town on the Cape, is a 25 miles drive eastward. Once can also head to the historic villages along Rte. 6A on the north side, or drive to the Outer Cape to visit several wildlife refuges or the National Seashore in Eastham or Provincetown. There are good shopping centers, great restaurants, and even a small aquarium (Woods Hole) with a resident seal!
