Having never been to Rincon, I spent hours laboring over what house to rent for our much anticipated spring break vacation. I needed to find a place that was affordable yet nice, especially to please our persnickety teenage daughter. I am quite pleased to say I picked the most perfect home. The house is not in full view of beach it sits behind row of small houses yet still provides private beach access a mere 40 steps away. In the morning I loved to wake up and walk the beach. I walked all the way to Maria's beach without encountering a soul ~ pure bliss! When we arrived, end of March, there was big surf at Steps beach. We had fun watching the multitude of amazing surfers ride these 15-20 ft waves. Because of the massive swell, we walked south a short jaunt and were able to enjoy a public beach which was sandy and more sheltered to provide much smaller waves to play in. We too wanted a chance to catch some Rincon waves so after the swell died down a few days later we hired Erik from the Rincon surf school to take our 14 & 11 year old to help familiarize them with the different surf spots. We rented a multitude of boards from Marazuls and had a blast. All of our favorite surf spots,Marias and Domes, were a easy couple minute drive from our house. One day I paddled our SUP to Marias for a early morning session with family. In the afternoon we would retreat back to our house and enjoy amazing snorkeling right in front of our house. Beautiful coral, colorful assortment of fish and many sea turtles left us in awe! When we felt sun-baked we would retreat to the shade of our big tree at our quiet beach. In the evening we would enjoy the sunsets at our beach and hang out on our outdoor patio surrounded by beautiful lush tropical gardens. The owner of the house and his wife and another couple were living upstairs during our stay. They were a great addition to our visit offering assistance and advise when needed. My favorite part about the house was the price and location. I loved the landscaping and big shaded patio where we spent most of our time when at home. The interior is nice - nothing fancy. There was plenty of room for all 5 of us. The home was very well kept and clean. The youngsters and I loved to visit the 2 cows in pasture next door. I would most definitely recommend this house to anyone visiting Rincon unless you wanted to just sit around inside and enjoy a flat screen tv and overstuffed furniture.
