EL COLOSO,4ºA

We’ve just had a fantastic Christmas week in this superb apartment. We were a family group of 8, ages from 23 to 65. This was the ideal place for a relaxing winter break. Spacious, clean, beautifully furnished rooms, cosy beds, well equipped kitchen. The apartment owner couldn’t have been more helpful and considerate – she lives in the same building & it’s reassuring to know she’s available if necessary. A welcoming comfy reception area is just inside the main entrance to el Coloso.
This apt has gorgeous views from the balconies across the gardens towards the sea, and balconies get the sun all day from sunrise to sunset. It was sunny & warm for us all week so we got out and about every day–this is an excellent location for bus rides up & down the coast. Bus stops are just a few minutes’ walk away, with supermarkets, bars & restaurants very close by. Buses are regular but some timetables are either missing or confusing, so make sure to ask somebody reliable. Bus drivers are generally very helpful. Fares very reasonable.
There are beautiful beaches across the road from el Coloso, and excellent walks along the prom towards Benalmadena centre (pronounced BenalMADena – emphasise 3rd syllable). Among the many great places to visit, I recommend a bus trip up to Benalmadena Pueblo -the original village settlement high on the mountainside (seen from the apartment) in traditional Andalusian style, & wonderful views from up there.
Finally, a brief mention about the walk up and down the access road between the Coloso building and the main road – it’s only a short distance and not too steep for most people, as even one of our family members who is awaiting a hip replacement op was able to walk it, taking his time of course.

Me and my family (7 people altogether) had a pleasure to rent this apartment this summer. It is very spacious, very well maintained, cosy and great looking apartment. It has great sea views from each room so it was a pleasure to sit in the morning and having a tea and breakfast either in the kitchen with big table or on the terrace (there are two big terraces actually). There is simply everything what you need, even the flat screen tv with sky box or wi-fi connection. Very short walking distance to the swimming pools, beach with very nice beach bar, local supermarket or bus stop which you can use to go to Malaga city centre. The owner was very friendly and supported us with ordering airport transfers etc. I do recommend!

We went on a girls holiday in September,we have stayed in Benalmadena many times but this is the first time we have re-booked an apartment. We had a nice friendly welcome from Elena who is on hand most of the time as she lives in the building and is very helpful and the apartment was clean and spacious,if I could change anything it would be a better shower in the en-suite and air con although all the large windows open and being so high up you can get a breeze. Although a little way out it has it,s own attractions, the pool area is spacious and there is a great beach bar Pericanos across the road, and the supermarket will deliver which is great because the hill is a bit steep if you are laden with shopping (great for a bit of excercise to walk off the night before!) As I say the best review we can give it is we have re-booked.
