This unique and spacious 1847 farm house with separate guest house is ideally located among the 18th and 19th century homes on historic Bridge Road. It is set on a shaded acre and just a short 1/2 mile jaunt to Boat Meadow Beach for a day of sun and then back at dusk for spectacular sunsets. Also a 1/2 mile away is the Cape Cod Rail Trail for biking or hiking. The home is within a mile of Rock Harbor Marina and the heart of Orleans. The charming Main House: rich in history features a wrap around farmer's porch, screened in breezeway and deck to outside hot/cold shower. The rambling interior features wide pine floors, multiple sitting areas, including two main floor living rooms, a gas fireplace, recently renovated 35-foot kitchen with cathedral ceiling, and dining area. The spectacular Guest House: set in the trees behind the main house with a separate drive offers more living space on 2 floors, including another fireplace and wrap around deck. Great Location on the Cape

We chose this rental for its central location on the cape and it worked out great. We did day trips to Provincetown, Nantucket (ferry from Harwich), and Woods Hole. It is also very close to the entrance to the Cape Cod National Seashore and the Rail Trail (biking.) When looking things up, it is closer to Orleans which has a large Stop and Shop, great wine store (Windmill Liquors), a cute shopping strip and good restaurants. The house itself is exactly as pictured and described, with an extra bonus- It's located next door to the Whalewalk inn and Spa which has a workout area and massages. The house is in a very quiet area, no traffic, with a beautiful yard. We loved the well-appointed kitchen and fit 10 at the table with no problem. The guest house is totally self-sufficient (kitchen and grill.) One drawback here-the bathroom is downstairs and the bedrooms up. In the main house the only downstairs bedroom(for people who can't handle steps) had a double which is very tight for a couple. I would definitely recommend this house for family get togethers, its central location, beautiful setting, comfortable decor, and overall setup.
