A week of relaxation and exploring.

We have just returned from our week at this Manomet oceanfront home, just south of Plymouth, Mass. We had a wonderful stay, the home was as described and pictured on this site. Our Host and Daughter met us on our arrival and made sure all necessary items were stocked for our use. The house is beautifully remodeled with modern stainless appliances, hardwood floors, tiled kitchen and bath. We were originally going to be a group of 6-7 but ended up with only four (+ our two dogs) the house would accomodate a large group comfortably, keep in mind that two of the bedrooms are down a steep flight of stairs, this area would be great for teenagers as it has its own sitting room with tv. We were only about 10 minutes from the Sagamore bridge, the entryway to Cape Cod, so day trips to the Cape were easy and fun. Plymouth is a typical New England town with so much history to explore and enjoy. The Plimoth Plantation is a great way to spend a few hours and see history in action. Wood's Seafood on the town pier was great for lunch or dinner, eat there or buy fresh and take back to the bar-b-que at the house. Boston is only about 45 minutes to the north and would be another great cloudy day trip, but we had nothing but sunshine so opted for the beaches, kayaking and just sitting on the large deck at the house gazing out on the ocean watching the ships heading to and from the canal. Sunrises are beautiful if your an early riser. The house sits up on a bluff with a staircase down to a very private beach, a bit rocky but swimable at high tide, a perfect place to take one of the beach chairs, a book and a beverage and listen to the waves lap against the shore and relax. Our two older dogs were welcomed and enjoyed thier vacation, lots of grass for them to play on. We would highly recommend this rental for anyone looking for a comfortable, pleasant resting place to explore southern New England or to do nothing at all but relax. We are from Plattsburgh NY, way upstate near the Canadian border and would love to come back for another stay in the future. Thanks again for a wonderful vacation.
