Sunny blue and yellow decor welcome you to this Holden Beach cottage. Views of the ocean and intra-coastal waterway, with plenty of decks and rockers for viewing with ease. This house sits on a quiet family street that is one avenue behind Ocean Boulevard and the Ocean. For those familiar with Holden, it is across from the 'Marker 55' community.

Bikes and beach chairs, as well as beach toys and rafts are all there. Linens can be rented before arrival. Two full bathrooms plus outside shower. 2 twins, 1 queen. Well appointed kitchen amenities, washer dryer, dishwasher, etc. Favorite part of the house is the rooftop deck for sunsets and moon rises!

Away from it all!

Our home is situated on a quiet second row street. We are positioned with open lots both front and back, so views are plentiful. Beach access is optimal. Holden Beach is situated 40 minutes South of Wilmington and 45 miles North of Myrtle Beach. It is a short drive to historic Southport, NC and the ferry to Bald Head Island, as well as other coastal North Carolina attractions.

This is a small, well appointed two bedroom duplex just across the street from a direct beach access. There are two bathrooms. This home can easily accommodate 4 people. Beach chairs, kayak, beach toys, and other amenities are available for your use. Porches allow for your private relaxation in and out of the sunshine. An outside shower and hammock chair under the deck keep the summer heat away.

Holden Beach is 'sleepy' with 2 and 3 story homes and little commercial activity on island. From our home it is an easy bike ride to the store for provisions, daily newspaper or fresh fish, clams or shrimp for dinner. In the summer, there are often weekly events, including concerts, sponsored by the Town of Holden Beach. (www.hbmerchants.com)

Holden Beach (HB) is a quiet island located on the southeast coast of North Carolina just 45 minutes north of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and 40 minutes south of Wilmington, NC. Holden Beach island is 9 miles in length and offers secluded white sandy beaches. HB has a national reputation as a quiet, family-oriented vacation destination with restrictions on development. National Geographic 'Traveler' magazine and AAA have rated Holden Beach one of the best family beaches in the country. The island has a 35-foot height limit for buildings, and most of the commercial property is on the mainland side of the IntraCoastal Waterway. Holden Beach has a unique location on the US East coast (the beaches run from east to west), the sun appears to rise out of the ocean and follow over the dunes of the beach before it sets back into the ocean in the evening. This phenomenon is best viewed during the fall and winter months of the year, when the sun is closest.

Other Activities: Teriffic for readers, bikers and families looking for quality downtime.

Golf: Conveniently located and close to spectacular beaches, there are many courses within a 10 mile radius, including Lockwood Folly and The National. The Big Cats of Ocean Ridge Plantation are close by, as well. All three of these Cats made Golf Digest’s recent list of the Top 50 Courses of Myrtle Beach and the challenging Tiger’s Eye® ranked #3.

Wonderful Vacation!

We had a great time on our recent vacation and didnt want it to end. The house was just as described and just as pictured. It was cutely decorated and well maintained. Everything you could possibly need was at the home. Beach access was a short 3-4minute walk and the ocean was breath-taking. This was a perfect rental for our family of five ( 2 adults and 3 children under age 6). The area was relaxing and quite. If you are looking for a less crowded beach and an area with few attractions this is your area!

Fantastic family vacation spot

This duplex was perfect for our time away at the beach. The home is very clean and well kept. Decor is bright and welcoming. The public beach access was a walkable distance which was so convenient for us to return home for lunch during the day. We weren't able to walk to the area's restaurants but they were a quick drive or bike ride away. House had everything we needed for our beach vacation and the owners were easy to work with. Had lots of things to do especially for older children (boogie boards, kayak, etc). Our 3 year old just liked the buckets and shovels! Also is easy access to the waterway. We would definitely recommend this for a couple or small family. We hope to return next year!

The home exceeded our expectations. It was accurately described, an easy walk to the beach, and just the right size for our family of four. We don't need and don't want to pay for a six bedroom monstrosity! The owners had several games, puzzles, and books, so we had plenty of downtime entertainment. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

A Wonderful Get-Away

This Duplex was very clean and a joy to stay in. It was equipped with everything we needed and then some. The owner described the property exactly as it is. We loved how convenient the beach access was to the property. The owner has tastefully decorated the cottage to make anyone feel comfortable and at home. We would be delighted to rent this property again next year and will recommend it to our friends and family.
Holden Beach is a charming, secluded island. We loved the family atmosphere. No loud music or partying was ever heard. There are just enough stores to keep one busy during a rainy day, but not enough to take away from a relaxing vacation.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
