Holden Beach Townhome Rental Photos and Description
2 BR, 2 BA, Sleeps 4+
Sunny blue and yellow decor welcome you to this Holden Beach cottage. Refreshing views of the ocean and intra-coastal waterway abound, with plenty of decks and seating for viewing with ease. 'Holden Sol' sits on a quiet street that is one avenue behind Ocean Boulevard and the ocean. For those familiar with Holden, it is across from the 'Marker 55' community.
Bikes and beach chairs, as well as beach toys and rafts are all there. Linens can be rented before arrival. There are two full bathrooms plus a large enclosed outside shower. Beds include 2 twins, 1 queen. 'Holden Sol' is well appointed with kitchen amenities, washer dryer, dishwasher, etc. A favorite part of the house is the rooftop deck for sunsets and moon rises!
It is truly 'Away from it all!'
Our home is positioned with open lots both front and back, so views are plentiful. Beach access is optimal.
Holden Beach is situated 40 minutes South of Wilmington and 45 miles North of Myrtle Beach. It is a short drive to historic Southport, NC and the ferry to Bald Head Island, as well as other coastal North Carolina attractions.
This is a small, well appointed two bedroom duplex just across the street from direct beach access. There are two bathrooms. 'Holden Sol' can easily accommodate 4 people. Beach chairs, kayak, beach toys, and other amenities are available for your use. Porches allow for your private relaxation in and out of the sunshine. An outside shower and hammock chair under the deck keep the summer heat away.
For those less familiar with Holden Beach, the island is truly 'sleepy' with 2 and 3 story homes and little commercial activity on island. From our home, it is an easy bike ride to the store for provisions, daily newspaper or fresh fish, clams or shrimp for dinner. Similarly, its a short bike ride to 'The Chapel' on Holden, an interdenominational church. In the summer, there are often weekly events, including concerts and dancing, sponsored by the Town of Holden Beach. (www.hbmerchants.com) Biking up with chairs and a cooler is a great change of pace.
If you're looking for an uncrowded beach experience, Holden Beach is exceptionally well placed. And, subjectively, we think 'Holden Sol' is, too.
- children welcome
- pets not allowed

Guestbook comments from the owner
I recently spent a week at 'Holden Sol' with my wife,19 year old daughter and her friend. This property was everything described in the listing and more. The entire process was seamless and smooth...couldn't have been any easier. The Holden Beach information provided by the Nolans was most helpful in getting our bearings and finding our way. Beach access was close and easy, shells were plentiful and crowds were nonexistent. We particularly enjoyed the undeveloped lot facing the ocean from the back deck. It provided a bustling little nature preserve to observe with morning coffee. The crow's nest was a cool and breezy evening retreat. Although a duplex, with easy communication with neighbors if needed, it was just as easy to feel we were the only ones there. Local seafood was readily available and we enjoyed a delicious dinner a Captain Pete's. I spent a great day fishing from the nearby pier, while the girls browsed local shops. Myrtle Beach proved a doable day-trip, allowing the younger set to kick it up a notch minus the "old folks". All in all, this was the best, most relaxing vacation my family has had in more than 10 years. We instantly felt right at home and all returned to "reality", refreshed and invigorated. I would heartily recommend this property to anyone looking for a slower paced, high R&R beach vacation. Hats off to the Nolans for creating and sharing their "little piece of heaven"... "Holden Sol."

'Holden Sol' on Holden Beach has been our home & refuge 'Away from it all' for many years. It has a relaxing pace that makes it hard to leave. (*You'll see.)
Holden, itself, is charming beach community with uncrowded beaches and easy water access to both beach and intra-coastal waterway. It's so relaxed it's 'sleepy'. Annually, the island is recognized as one of the best family beaches in the nation including by AAA, National Geographic Smart Traveler and American Profile magazines.
We simply love it. We hope you will, as well.
