The Brown House is located on the harbor of Stonington Village, Once you get there, you won't need your car! The Brown House gives you beautiful views and is peaceful and quiet. It is also within walking distance to groceries, library, ice cream and antique shops, ferry terminal, restaurants. Walk along the waterfront and watch the harbor bustle along or enjoy day trips to the various islands. The mail boat cruises through the tiny islands of Merchant's Row and takes passengers to the village dock at Isle au Haut. During summer months it also stops at the Acadia National Park. This park covers more than half of Isle au Haut and offers both easy and challenging walking trails, rugged beaches and gorgeous ocean views.

The Brown House is located on the water in Stonington Village, overlooking Stonington Harbor.

Walk along the waterfront and enjoy the bustle of the lobster and fishing boats bringing in their daily catch. Enjoy day trips to the various islands and Acadia National Park at Isle au Haut on the mail boat.

Launch your kayak from The Brown House and explore the surrounding islands on your own. Relax on the deck overlooking the harbor as it settles into evening.

We are within walking distance of nearby of restaurants, gift shops, art galleries, and the Stonington Opera House. We’re within a short drive to hiking trails other nearby villages and towns that offer classical and folk music concerts, summer theater and more historical sites.

Great little place - nice in town location

My husband, daughter and I stayed here last summer for a week. It was such a great little place. Very comfortable! Had everything we needed and was easy to walk to the market, the theater and shops. The farmers market had fresh local food and crafts. Lisa made everything very easy and even let us bring our dog! The kayaking was amazing! We really enjoyed being part of village life for a week and are only sorry we wont be able to return this year. Maybe next year! I am recommending this rental to all of my friends and have sent the link to the web page to several already!
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Pet-friendly, Adventure Seekers, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

Relax, refresh, renew at the Brown House

The house is in a great location and is a great place to just relax. Internet is spotty, wireless from the library across the street and you'll need to bring a little gas grill, but other than that it is a great place to unwind body and mind.

The people in the area are very friendly... Seasons has a great selection of wine... Harbor Cafe down the street has a great menu...

If you are looking for someplace to relax and renew this is it.. Just don't go there looking for a 5 star resort. All the comforts of home for the most part.
