Powder Mountain House Rental Photos and Description
House, 4 Bedrooms + Loft, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 8-10)
Welcome to our real log home located in the middle of Powder Mountain Resort’s 5,500 acres of Utah powder snow. We built this home because we love the solitude and friendliness of Powder Mountain, not to mention the incredible powder! Ski out the door to Sundown lift or take a short walk to Timberline Lift. Either way there are no lockers, no buses, and no parking spots to fight for. Enjoy the groomed trails, which are not overcrowded or the fresh powder of the back country. Powder Mountain was voted #1 in snow by Ski Magazine's readers in 2005. If you want to hit more than one resort while in Utah, Snow Basin is 30 min. away, renowned for its verticals and home of the 2002 men’s Olympic downhill.
We’ve built a dream log home, hand crafted inside and out of huge lodge pole pine logs. Inside we have made comfort and beauty our prerogative. After a great day of skiing, curl up with a book in front of the fire and enjoy the panoramic mountain view of the sunset, sky and ski slopes through the vast windows from the great room and master loft suite. At night, enjoy the view of the resort’s night skiing, a favorite with locals and visitors alike. The basement has a mudroom equipped with a washer and drier and a boot drier to make sure everything is ready for the next days run. There is a two car garage for parking and stowing your gear.
If you love to cook the kitchen is well equipped with quality cookware, fine appliances, granite counter tops and a breakfast bar. Whip up a great breakfast before you hit the slopes and a dinner to celebrate a day of skiing and riding. A BBQ grill is available for those who enjoy cooking outdoors. Take a break in the middle of the day and warm your toes by the fire for lunch at home or at one of the restaurants on the mountain. If you choose not to shop, our mountain hosts will shop for you, before and during your stay. The Valley Market is 20 minutes away and five miles down the road is Wolf Creek Lodge and the town of Eden with a variety of dining, from casual to gourmet.
Quality beds from Simmons Beauty Rest and cozy furniture throughout the house are provided for your comfort. Feather duvets are provided for each bed as well as a choice of medium or firm pillows. The master bedroom suite bath has a Jacuzzi tub and separate shower. The French doors open to the loft for a spectacular morning view of the mountain right from your king size bed. Downstairs has a fourth bedroom, which can be utilized for the privacy of a couple, or a family room for the kids, complete with its own bathroom, TV, and foosball table. A supply of games, books and puzzles for every age are provided.
In the summer you can enjoy the cool crisp mountain air and the quiet solitude of a mountain home. Enjoy views of the flora and fauna from every room in the house. We've seen deer wander by the kitchen window. Just minutes down the mountain, golf, fishing, hiking and boating are available in the beautiful upper Ogden valley. The deep blue Pineview Reservoir is a favorite summer recreation area. What a combination, the beauty of a lake with the snow-capped mountains in the background.

Why The Owner chose Powder Mountain
We fell in love with Powder Mountain for it's natural beauty, deep powdery snow, friendly people and lack of crowds. We were fortunate enough to build our dream log home right on the mountain
What makes this house unique
In the middle of the resort, ski- in ski out. Very nicely furnished and appointed. Tremendous views of the slopes through giant windows. The beauty of a hand crafted log home. Drive to on a plowed road.
Guestbook comments from the owner
Hi Donna, just wanted to send you a note about our stay at your home on Powder Mountain. Snow was good this year...although it was the first year in 7 years we didn't get dumped on. We realized how spoiled we are. The good news was it forced us to dig deeper. We hiked where the "tow" lift drops you off. That area above Cobabe Canyon (spelling?) is magical. Great tree runs, Deep pow and solitude and a Cat we had never tried.
We hired a guide this year and also found great areas in Powder country I that we had never explored....take a hard right after you cross the road and fresh tracks for three days :)
At the end of the last day I had to get one more run in. I took the Cat to the peak above the cabin and took the face to end the day with the goal of boarding into the Powder keg. At the bottom of the bowl I saw something round and brown crossing my intended trail. I put on the brakes just in time not to run over a VERY well fed Porcupine. It was gently snowing. The Porcupine eyed me and I decided to sit down 10 yards away. Snow found its way onto its pelt as it wobbled around me and the snow covered trees. We shared 5 minutes together, uninterrupted, with only the sound of snow settling on my shoulders...this could only happen in Powder Mountain. Imagine the 3,000 people that would have raced by me if I decided to stop for 5 minutes at Park City.
Powder mountain is one of the most special places on earth and frankly your home matches its perfection. I appreciate the opportunity to spend time there every year.
I would love to take the same week next year..
