Keaau House Rental Photos and Description
House, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 3)
This comfortable vacation home is named after the Lehua blossom. The Ohia is a native and is the most abundant tree in the Hawaiian islands, and is one of the first trees to break through the lava. The wood from the Ohia is very strong. Back in the late 1800's, it was farmed in the Puna district and shipped to the mainland for railroad ties. However, it was too hard for the spikes, and had to be used as fuel for the steam engines. Its red blossoms (Lehua) are important sources of nectar for the birds. Hale Lehua is surrounded by Ohia trees, and during certain times of the year, you'll be able to enjoy the beauty of the red Lehua blossoms.
When you come 'home' from a day of sightseeing, you enjoy the large living area that extends out onto the fully screened lanai, where you'll experience outdoor dining. The kitchen is fully equipped for those times you'd rather stay home and cook and just enjoy Paradise at home. At the back of Hale Lehua, there's a second fully screened in lanai for relaxing and enjoying Paradise in complete privacy.
Hale Lehua is located in the highly desirable Hawaiian Paradise Park area of the east side of the Big Island. The vacation home will sleep up to three, with a queen bed in the master and a convertable futon couch in the second bedroom.
Centrally located on the East side of the Big Island, Hale Lehua is only a fifteen minute drive to Hilo town and less than ten minutes to the quaint old village of Pahoa. You're only a 35 minute drive to the Volcano's National Park. The Kapoho area, with its wonderful swimming and snorkeling spots, is only a 25 minute drive. The Waiopae tide pools have some of the best snorkeling on the Big Island. There's so much to see and do, so come on over an enjoy Paradise.
