Especially For Artists:
Tenants Harbor is a part on the St. George Peninsula - dotted with art galleries, studios, lobster pounds and fishing docks. Port Clyde (ferry to Monhegan Island) is the next town. Clean air, wonderful light and magnificent ocean vistas - see why artists and nature lovers visit. The Wyeths have summered here for decades. It wouldn't be unusual to see Jamie or Andrew at the Port Clyde General Store! The sunsets over Turkey Cove are unusually brilliant. See pg 15 of 'A Solitude of Space' by artist Thomas Crotty, painted from our front yard. Relax, create art, fish, sail, kayak - you have found one of the most beautiful spots in Maine. Will consider pets with security deposit.
Up The Coast A Bit....:
is Rockland and Camden, great places to shop, dine or take in a movie. The Farnsworth Museum and Wyeth Center displays work by the finest American artists of the 20th c. The Strand theater in Rockland just re-opened last year after being boarded up for years. It now has it's original 'art deco' 1930's look and shows art films, concerts and unusual events. Camden is the 'Jewel of the Coast'. Take a day sail aboard a schooner or charter a sailboat. Very picturesque with lots of shops. Rent kayaks in Port Clyde or take the ferry to Monhegan.
As good as new!:
At last! Renovations finished July 2006! Open concept: Kitchen (eat-in) - new gas range, farmer's sink and Zodiac counter tops...open to living room with loft. A cute little deck, just big enough for two, is off one of bedrooms, and faces East....what a great way to start your day...morning coffee watching the sun come up over the trees. Fall is fantastic here...consider September and October. Notice that we are offering an incentive! Pets will be considered with security deposit.
Golf:
Golf Details. Rockland Country Club (Open to Public) is a 20 min. drive. They rent clubs. Nice 18 holes - Fee is approx $25/for 9 holes or $50 for 18. Much more luxurious (and famous!) is the Samoset Resort, also in Rockland. You see the ocean from the first 9 holes!
