Privacy: Our cabin is surrounded by trees on three sides. We are in a small community (Shadow Mountain) of cabins and ours sits above the others with a great view of Grandfather Mountain. We are approximately 3650 feet above sea level. There is a small stream that runs beside the cabin as well as a campfire area on the property. A lnice waterfall is just a short hike down the road. Hike to the top of the Shadow Mountain behind our cabin for more breathtaking views and a beautiful mountain top lake. Our guests have started a collection of walking sticks from hikes in the neighborhood...hope you'll add yours!

Convenience: You'll feel like you're a million miles away from it all...and yet you'll be minutes (10 or less) from several towns - Foscoe, downtown Boone or downtown Banner Elk where you'll find shopping, restaurants - everything from fast food to exclusive fine dining, site seeing, shopping, tourist attractions and the Blueridge Parkway. Grocery stores are 10 minutes in either direction.

Adventure: Golf, fishing, hiking, picnicking, Blueridge Parkway, Linville Falls, Tweetsie Railroad, gem mining, white water rafting, mountain biking, canoeing - all within minutes. Our cabin is minutes from the area ski slopes. We are closest to Hawksnest Ski Resort....about 1 mile, Sugar Mountain is about 10-12 minutes, Beech is about 15 minutes, Appalachian Ski Slope 15 minutes. Night skiing, tubing, ski lessons, beginners to advanced. 4 wheel drive strongly recommended in winter months!

My mom and I just spent too short a vacation (3 nights) at this beautiful cabin. It is located in a perfect, central location, it is clean, beautifully appointed, with privacy and the comforts you need after a good long day of sightseeing and hiking. Did I say cozy? We look forward to a return trip!

Must Reccomend!!!!!What a beautiful place!!!! This was the perfect escape for a peaceful and relaxing weekend. Its great to get away from the husle and bustle of city life. And your elegant and cozy cabin was just what I needed. The hot tub was a plus, especially with mother nature surrounding it. Truly a magnificent place, thanks for allowing me to share a weekend at such a fabulous home! Cabin is very convienent to nearby necessities, but just far enough for quiet. Thanks again, it was truly a spiritual experience. Debra and Kevin, you were very kind in arrangements as well, thanks.

This cabin is impeccably decorated and well appointed with plush rolled towels in the bathrooms, comfortable leather couch and chairs, and beautiful antiques throughout. I felt pampered. The surrounding area offers the best of NC mountain scenery and there are tons of things to do. We particularly enjoyed climbing Grandfather Mountain, visiting it's animal habitat (and feeding the bears), visiting the Moses Cone Craft center, buying penny candy at the Mast General Store in Valle Crusis and touring Appalachain State University. I wish we had more time!
