Shannon – Thank you very much for opening your Skytop cottage to us. It was perfect. We had a blast. The lodge is amazing to look at and wonder around. Once we found our way around we found plenty to keep us busy. We took your advice and hiked out to the Indian Ladder Falls with the whole family (Ages 3 to 72). Later in the afternoon my husband and I and our 7 year old son did the hike to Leavitt Falls – what a sight, after all that rain the falls were massive. Very cool. The dog sleds were closed for Spring cleaning – we’ll have to check that out next time.
I just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed ourselves. The house was immaculate and had everything we needed. Our favorite room was the dining room with all the windows, we had great meals and played games and had a lot of good laughs around the table.
I travel extensively. The combination of terrific golf facilities, dining, outdoor activities and lodge make Skytop best resort of its type. Skytop deserves its Four Star Rating.
We enjoyed the picturesque house located on the 5th tee. The bedrooms were surprising large. The house combines old-world charm and need to have high tech amenities (e.g., broad band internet and flat panel TV). The house was clean and well maintained - very important considerations for my family.
We really enjoyed ourselves and plan to be back next year.
I stayed here with my family in August and we had a fabulous time. The resort is really fantastic. In the past we stayed at the hotel, but the cost is about $500 per night per room and this year we had a bigger group so we thought we would stay at a house on property. Every generation really enjoyed themselves. The kids learned to play golf, I spent time at the spa, we hiked, biked and swam as a family. We all loved the live entertainment at the hotel each night.
The house is a really nice. It is one of the original cottages on the resort, and is the closest private house to the lodge. The cottage is wood shingled, and has nice wood floors and wood trim throughout the house. The house was very clean when we were there. The kitchen floor is old, but clean, and I understand it is being replaced soon. It has 7 bedrooms. 6 are really quite large (as large as most hotel rooms) and one that is a bit smaller but it still has a full size bed in it with a dresser and a chair. The kitchen is on the small side but has all new appliances and nice cabinetry. The dining room seats about 8-10 people and the living room has a really nice fireplace and a big plasma TV with digital cable over it. What was so surprising to us was how big all the bedrooms were. When you email the owners, they will send you a brochure with lots of pictures of the house.
The house is definitely really nice but if you are planning on spending a lot of time cooking or have a large group that wants to hang out at home, you may want to have a house with larger public areas. If you want a nice house in a great resort, close to everything and have bedrooms to spare than this is a great place for you. Even though we were a big group we found ourselves spending more time hanging out together at the lodge and doing activities than at the house. I would absolutly recommend this place and have already told several of my friends about it.
We enjoy our time at Skytop Cottage because it is a comfortable place for us to be together. It is fun to enjoy Skytop for dinner and dancing. We did feel Skytop was slipping this year. The ice rink wasn't open at times it was scheduled to be open. The sledding hill and Skiing never opened on our trip. We went to Alpine Mountain instead. The cottage was the highlight for us. We really enjoyed family time for games in front of the fireplace.
We rented this house for two nights for my cousin's wedding which was at Skytop Lodge. The location was great..literally around the corner from the lodge...easily walkable.
The house is a little dated but fit our needs well. We shared with a few other family members, total of 10 adults, 2 kids, and 2 babies. We had plenty of room in the house which was great.
We walked to and from the lodge mostly but also took the shuttle which the lodge provides and they were so friendly and nice.
All in all a good stay and would recommend to a friend.
Went with a group, including three three-year-olds and a ten-month-old. The house was perfect for us. Would definitely visit again!
We had a great stay at Cottage 45 for a weekend over the summer. We came with lots of little kids all under the age of 6 and they all had a blast. It was a very easy walk over to the lodge and the activities they had were wonderful for them. We were definitely not bored. The house is exactly as described. Glad we found it and can't wait to go back!
