Come for a lovely, quiet vacation in the beautiful NC Smokey mountains. A beautiful cabin awaits you. Relaxation at its' best! Read on!

Looking for all the amenities and beauty of a mountain cabin without having to drive on dirt roads and be isolated? Moose Crossing Cabin is the place for you! Just minutes from quiet, quaint 'downtown' Andrews, this cabin is beautifully decorated for your comfort and privacy. Situated on a quiet, residential street high above the town, the cabin's front porch view is of the gorgeous northern mountains across the valley. Side porch overlooks a garden area with flowers (seasonally!) and bird feeders. Covered porches with rocking chairs, dining table & arm chairs for your comfort no matter the weather. A 10' X 18' open deck is on the back of the cabin with charcoal grill, chaise lounge, table, umbrella and four chairs, two faux wicker arm chairs. Cabin backs up to Leatherwood mountain, a beautifully forested and undeveloped area.

Ideally suited for two persons, bedroom features queen bed, firm mattress and 'faux' featherbed for the ultimate night's sleep. Room darkening drapes and wooden blinds. Robes provided for your comfort. Window A/C, ceiling paddle fan. Additional entrance door from side porch. All linens provided. You will find your bed made with ironed luxurious sheets! If needed, the LR sofa is loveseat-size sofa bed. A twin size fold-out bed with mattress and featherbed is also available. Cabin is small and designed with two person occupancy in mind.

Kitchen is small, located within the living room but fully equipped with everything you could possibly want. Upon arrival you will find your refrigerator stocked with breakfast items! Coffee, tea, hot chocolate mix, creamer, sugar, sweeteners, orange juice, milk, cereals, fresh fruit, jelly, English muffins, fresh eggs, waffles, pancakes, pure maple syrup, pre-cooked bacon, sausage, butter and spreads! Arrive ready to relax without worrying about grocery shopping for the morning! Definitely not your ordinary rental cabin!

Living room features cathedral ceiling, ceiling paddle fan/light, window A/C, French doors looking out onto your front porch and the mountains across the valley. Curtains swing away from the doors for a mountain view from inside. A very comfortable sofa and a Lane rocker-recliner. 32' flat screen TV located on the fireplace mantle. Free secure wireless internet access! You won't find that amenity in another local rental! All necessary items for fireplace are provided; dry wood, starters, kindling, matches, etc. Please see website for more photos and information!

Your hostess resides in the small home located in front and to the side of Moose Crossing Cabin. Cabin has private driveway. I assure you your privacy! However, I am available should a guest have a question, concern or want additional information regarding local sights. Some renters feel more secure knowing someone is available nearby should an emergency or unusual event occur. I am CPR certified and have over 40 years experience in the medical field.

About The Owner

Originally, I'm from Connecticut. During the 80's I lived in Andrews up in a 'holler' and never had the gorgeous view I now enjoy. I then relocated to FL for 15 years and in 1999 decided I had to have another home in Andrews. I purchased 'this old house' and have had extensive improvements done. The 'Moose' was originally a single room over the workshop. I designed and decorated the cabin as it now exists and enjoyed watching it being built in 2007. The view of the northern mountains is breath-taking! I have thoroughly enjoyed all the comments from my guests, many of whom have become my friends.

I work full-time as Radiology Director in a hospital in GA and am away from my home at least ten hours a day. My guests have total privacy, but like knowing I am here in the evenings should they have a problem or question. I have two 'inside' dogs who were hard-luck stories but have adapted to being spoiled house-dogs very quickly!

I have traveled extensively throughout the USA as well as foreign countries and have never found a more beautiful place to live than right here in Andrews, NC.

Outstanding!

We loved this cabin! My kids loved climbing to the peak of mountains nearby. The cabin was a little tight for two adults and two older kids but we made it work. We truly appreciated all the breakfast items and the pizza was an added treat. The short walk to the winery was a bonus. Pat was just the greatest host and it was a pleasure meeting her and her family. We hope to be back when its warmer and my kids can enjoy the zipline places nearby.

It a wonderful little cabin. Perfect for 2 people. My husband and I had a most relaxing time at Moose Crossing Cabin. Everything was included. Wonderful breakfast food. She thinks of everything. Pat is a wonderful host. It is quite and close to things. The bed was so so comfortable. I am so glad that she gave us the opportunity to stay at her wonderful little cabin. I would like to come back when it is a little warmer so that I can enjoy the nice porches!! Great Job Pat!! God Bless!!

Incredibly Relaxing!

  • 5 of 5

Amazing price for all of the great service Pat provided! The cabin is so cozy and it really felt as if we were at home. Everything that was needed was included and more (including some delicious breakfast foods!) We felt so comfortable just relaxing in the cabin or the patio. Pat is the perfect host and I would recommend her to anyone looking for a the perfect getaway in the smokies. If we pass through NC again, we know we'll be staying here! :)

Perfect getaway

  • 5 of 5

I happened across this cabin while searching for a place to stay on vacation in the mountains. The price was amazing and from the pictures it looked like just what we needed. When we arrived the cabin was immaculately clean and well organized. Everything we needed was provided, there was plenty of lounging space, the kitchen was more than sufficient to prepare our meals (Pat even provided breakfast foods), plenty of clean towels and toiletries in the bathroom, and the bed was extremely comfortable. Pat was so friendly and helpful, she gave us many great recommendations on places to go and things to do in the area. The Great Smoky Mountains park is just a half hour drive away from the cabin. The big seller though was the Calaboose Cellars winery just a short walk from the cabin. We much enjoyed our stay here and hope to be back some day.

Peaceful Weekend

  • 5 of 5

I searched the internet for hours and hours over several weeks looking for an affordable weekend getaway for my husband and I. Moose Cabin was BY FAR the most affordable I could find and Pat is the most hospitable person you'll meet! We arrived on Friday to a stocked fridge of breakfast foods and even treats for our 2 fur babies. It's so very hard to find a great pet friendly place to stay and she thoroughly cleans and launders everything between guests, so you would never have known another dog had ever stayed there. It was super clean and stocked with lots of firewood (she had already started the fire for us before we arrived). A super short walk from the cabin is the smallest functional winery & brewery in the USA. Pat and Patrick bring hordevores and his awesome pizza to the winery on Saturdays for guests to munch on. Such a wonderful time. So thankful to have found them and will be returning! :)

Mini Vacation

  • 5 of 5

After looking through numerous listings, my husband and I and our Pekinese decided on Moose Crossing. It was one of the best decisions we have made. The cabin was perfect for us. The rates were very economical and Pat, our hostess, was the best. She made sure everything was just right for us and even had the frig stocked with lots of breakfast items to get us started. She furnished the soaps, shampoos, detergent for dishes and washer, firewood, and fire starters. A lot of cabins we have been to have said they had mountain views (not so much) At Moose Crossing all we had to do was look out the front French doors to see a wonderful mountain view. We had a wonderful, relaxing time and will definitely be back.
