This cozy upscale retreat is as perfect for romantic couples as it is for families looking for fun in Lake Tahoe 'The year round playground.' Just 2 blocks from pristine Lake Tahoe near Carnelian Bay. Our cabin faces Lake Tahoe. Upstairs is a fabulous great room with vaulted ceilings, red oak hardwood floors and accent carpets. There are many large windows looking out to the forest and a peek-a-boo view of the lake from the antique gaming table. There are many beautiful antiques in this cabin providing its warm and cozy feeling. The gas burning fireplace and hydronics heating system thru-out enhance the comfort and warmth. This home is complete with a 32-inch flat screen TV, CD, DVD and VCR player. A home theatre system will compliment everything you choose to watch or listen to. Our luxurious leather sofa, loveseat and easy chair lend themselves superbly to relaxing and unwinding.

  • Snuggle down in the master suite queen bed with tempurpedic style mattress. You are guaranteed to “melt” into this bed! The private bath includes large soaking tub and shower. A small wood-burning stove will insure that cozy nights sleep. There is also a roll-top desk with fax machine and dial up Internet. (Sorry, high speed is not yet available) This master suite was later added to the cabin creating a separate wing of privacy. The second bedroom was the original master bedroom prior to the addition. Like the master suite it also has a queen bed and private bath with a shower. This bedroom is furnished with all antiques. The third bedroom has a queen bed with an antique headboard and antique marble top nightstands. The fourth bedroom is equipped with pine bunk beds. A full bath services these two bedrooms and includes a shower/tub combo

Agate Bay...Location...Location...Location: Agate Bay is a highly desired residential area that has retained the beauty and serenity of the Tahoe basin. There are lots of open spaces in this neighborhood that boasts nice homes on large forested lots. We are located 6 miles east of Tahoe City and 2 miles west of Kings Beach near Carnelian Bay. North Lake Tahoe has minimal traffic, with none of the crowds, congestion, and commercialism of the south shore. (There is not a single traffic signal for an 8-mile stretch of the North Shore, where this home is located!) Our family has had other homes in Agate Bay for almost 40 years...this is without a doubt one of the best locations in the Tahoe basin!

Our Neighborhood: The neighborhood is quiet, very friendly and great for walking. Our home is only 2 blocks from National Forest Land, where you will find a wonderful walking or biking trail through the woods to Patton Beach on Carnelian Bay. Or one can hike or mountain bike uphill through the forest to Brockway Summit for panoramic lake views and access to a maze of Forest Service roads! In the winter, cross-country, snow shoeing and skiing is right outside your door. There is ample parking in the driveway for 3 cars or 2 cars and a boat. Three boat-launching ramps are within a 6-mile drive of Agate Bay. Sand Harbor is a scenic 20 minute drive and hosts a fourth boat ramp.

Owner's Thoughts: In closing we would like to say that as owners of this home we have made every attempt to make this cabin as user friendly as possible. We love to have a good time and this house is conducive to this mindset of ours. It is a fun, warm, cozy cabin with great amenities. If you choose our home for your next vacation I feel confident you will come away with memories that will last for years to come!!! My parents and brother also have homes in Agate Bay just two blocks away. So If your planning a reunion or just need more space we can check availability for you. This is a clean, comfortable cabin in a great location. However, the upstairs living area lacks curtains, and the master suite is not very private either; we had to drape sheets to avoid providing a peep show. Also, there is a 10AM check-out that I didn't realize, which was a bit of a scramble. Overall though, the owner was pleasant to deal with, and we had a relaxing time with a great off-season rate and no crowds.
Owner's Response: Wow, first time anyone has mentioned no curtains upstairs in seven years of ownership. Reason being, the surrounding forest and peek a boo lake views are fabulous from 2nd floor and no one can see in. All our bedrooms including the Master Suite have vertical blinds installed, giving our guests complete privacy for those who wish to use them! Our 10:00 AM checkout is posted in our Guest Reservation Application and in the house. As owners, we are very flexible as far as our checkout time. Unless there is a back to back rental then the 10:00 time is a must, as our maid only has five hours to turn the home around so it's as welcoming for the next guest as it was for the last.

Thanks for lending us your wonderful vacation home, Greg. We only used three of the bedrooms, but having that wonderful great room upstairs with the deck and bbq as well as the hottub was wonderful! The location is perfect and the neighborhood is very quiet and friendly. We enjoyed our week away from the Bay Area, and recommend this home to anyone looking for a comfortable family vacation place. Our kids loved TV's in their bedrooms, and we enjoyed the separate master suite.

We really enjoyed our stay at your home last month! Your cabin is so very nice and it was the perfect place for our family to get together and celebrate my husband's 60th birthday!! We were lucky to get quite a bit of snow and the hot tub was a treat. An extra bonus is that we could have our dog with us also - since she is part of the family too!

Thanks again for letting us use your beautiful cabin and we hope to rent it again soon.

We stayed her for new years and had a blast. Cabin was better than we had hoped. Lots of amnenities and great location. Great cabin for a group. We plan on staying again! :-)
