Papoose is all that a lakefront home should be. There is plenty of room to relax together with your family and friends or go and find that little spot to call your own for a while. The home has a wonderful deck that overlooks the beautiful waters of Lake Martin. The water in front of the home is very deep and usually quiet with the main channel just one bend away.

The home has recently changed owners and has received the royal treatment. New paint, furniture, and bedding make the home fresh and inviting.

This home has a poker table, bumper pool table, great views, a wonderful sun deck, a cool shady screened porch, a private balcony, kids bunk room, two living areas, a kitchen with buffet style accomodations, and deep water all year long. We rented this house for my husband's and 2 of my other friends birthday's. There was around 12 of us that stayed all weekend. We had plenty of room! The pier was wonderful and the surroundings perfect. The only thing that happened was when we went to leave the washing machine was backing up into the 2 down stairs restrooms when we tried to start the load of clothes for the cleaning person coming behind us and the rental company/ property management never returned my call after I left a message on Sunday before check out time which concerned me as what would have happened if it would have been a problem while we were staying there. I hope they fix this plumbing problem in the future. Otherwise we couldn't have ask for a better house to getaway in for the weekend at a great price. Hope to go back soon with my family.

We spent 3 months here, and thoroughly enjoyed the house, the location, and the peace and quiet! We found the location perfect for relaxing, and close enough to towns if we wished to be busier. Alabama hospitality is the finest that we have ever come across (and we do come from a friendly Canadian to. We hope to repeat this vacation next year.

The Papoose was a wonderful place for our event...at least 3 great restaurants were within a 10-15 minute drive. The photos didn't do the place justice...it was beautiful and roomy. There were a few "maintenance" issues but nothing major. We had plenty of room to be together and plenty of spaces for those who wanted some "alone" time.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

We enjoyed staying at Papoose. The view is beautiful great location for skiing right off dock. Plenty of room in house for all your family or friends. The owner is very helpful and nice to work with.
