My Stay at the Condo

We had plenty of room. The condo was so clean and well taken care of. Everything you need to take care of you and your family. Easy beach access. Close to places to eat and drink, It is very quiet around the condo also. Jan is so great. We had a great time at the beach, mini golf, gocarts, Cinema, Blackbeard's, Tom and Jerry's and the Pirates Landing. We also went on a dolphin watch and saw the sunset on the water.We shopped many of the shoppes around town. It was great. I highly recommend
this condo.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Tourists without a Car, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

Not satisified with the unit. The exterior and grounds were unkempt. The pool was behind a locked gate behind the garbage shed.Were not given the code for the pool. Got the info from a woman coming out of the pool area. The pool was dirty, tiles broken and garbage piled up in the pump area. Walking into the unit, the first thing noticed is the broken venetian blind slats. Next is not the beautiful white furniture as pictured in the rental pictures, but black leather couches, a shoddy TV stand, a dark green old recliner and of course the stack of 3 dirty looking plastic chairs in the corner. The kitchen was well equipped with plates and silverware. Most of the pots were burned so I had to purchase a frying pan. There were only 3 glasses that were filthy. The dishwasher was not anchored down and there was only one vegetable bin in the fridge.The washer & dryer were useful although not the correct type for the unit. The main bedroom came without closet doors but the bed was comfortable. There were no extra sheets for any of the beds. The second bedroom did not have two single beds but two large beds with just enough room to walk between to look out the window. The window treatment was something to behold. It was a piece of fabric with slits cut in the top for pole to go through and the hem was held up with blue tape. The wall decor was amazing. One bathroom had an empty picture frame hanging on the wall. The shower heads were so low that you almost had to kneel down to wash your hair. One bathroom was minus the sliding glass door and it was replaced with a clear plastic shower curtain although the track for the door was still there. The one positive about the unit was the proximity to the beach. The area certainly did afford a great variety of entertainment. In my estimation this unit deserves less than one star.
Owner's Response: I have learned some people can not be pleased. I will address some her issues others are completely unfounded. The unit was in far better condition when she arrived than when she left.
The grounds that she stated were unkempt consisit of the parking area, walk ways and the tiled pool area which are cleaned 2 x a week. The Dumpster is to the left of the pool entrance and is surrounded by a stockade fence. The broken tiles were behind the dumpster and were the ones removed when replace them with new tiles and have since been picked up. I do not go into the pool equipment area and guest should not either that is for the maitenance people.The code to the pool is written in the guest book on the coffee table, 1st page, 1st entry. She also had my cell phone number, home phone number, email and my husband cell phone if she had any question or problems. The white plastic chairs are there for guest to take out side. They can not be left outside due to the wind. All my guest have been glad to have this amenity. The white couch was replace with black leather due to a tear that was not repairable. I explained to her the reason for the plastic glasses was there is a $200 fine for taking glass onto the beach and I was trying to save my guest from this expense. The glasses she did find were not filthy; The screw that anchored the dishwasher had come out and if she had let me know I would have been happy to have fixed it. Unfortunatley she didn't know what she was talking about in regards to the w/d. All the units were built to the specs recommended by the manufactor. As anyone who has spent any time in SPI will tell you the slat corrosion is a constant battle. I removed the sliding doors and installed curtains because I could not stand the grating noise. We have increased the bed size from a single to a double which I consider a plus as many of my guest had requested it. The showers are standard preformed fiberglass Tub/Shower inserts. This is the first I heard of having to kneel to wash your hair.

I strive for all my guest to have an enjoyable experience. If there is a problem I will do my best to correct it. That is why I make myself as available as possible by giving my guest all my contact information.It is unfair to complain about something I had no opportunity to correct. All she had to do was make a call. I wish her all the best and hope her next vacation is able to fill all her expectations.

Awesome place to stay!

I would give Jan's place 4.5 stars if I could. The only "criticism" is its a little far from the main Entertainment District. That said it is close to a few good bars including Kelly's and Wanna Wanna's.

Other than being far from the Entertainment District, Jan's place was a great place to hang out, cook meals, and crash in comfortable beds. Moreover, Jan was extremely helpful with telling us places to check out and putting us in touch with a guy who could take us out for deep-sea fishing (we didn't end up going).

The owner is ethical

The owner is a nice and ethical person. While we were there, we ran into some serious maintenance issues with the complex and she refunded some of our money. She even allowed us to use the pool at one of her other properties that was within 3 blocks. We appreciated her assistance and understanding. The unit itself is comfortable and it is fully stocked with pots, pans, coffee mugs, bath towels, etc. The complex is quiet which is great for families with young children. As the owner is nice and understanding, we would not hesitate to rent from her again.

to have everything in order. I'm am glad I was able to resolve the problems and had understanding

This very clean condo is located in very easy walking distance to a nice beach. Ms Jan was so nice. The pool is small but decent. Having a washer dryer and dishwasher sure were nice perks. This condo is on third floor which provides a nice breeze and view but does get a little tedious hauling coolers back and forth. All in all a good deal for a nice vacation.
