Located on the end of a quiet cove with little boat traffic, the home has a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and dining area which seats six and a cozy living room with a 27 “ TV with VCR/DVD player. A sun room extends off the living room. A deck overlooks the woods and dock. A full bath and a large master bedroom with a king size bed complete the upper level.

Downstairs is another full bath, a second bedroom with a queen size bed and a third bedroom with a twin over double bunk bed. The family room on this level has a queen size sleeper and another 27” TV with VCR/DVD player. Sliding glass doors open to the covered patio. A washer and dryer are located on this level.

Take the stairs or the gravel path to the dock that has room for your two boats. A large party deck is located above the dock.

A community area with tennis courts, a basketball hoop and a large open field is across the street.

Smith Mountain Yacht Club, a state boat ramp, several marinas and the state park are close by.

Location, Location, Location!: The house is conveniently located across from the R-27A marker which is between Halesford Bridge and the SML State Park. The Halesford Bridge area and Bridgewater Plaza are about 5 minutes by boat and 10 minutes by car. Here you will find several restaurants, shops, game arcade, miniature golf, and an ice cream parlor. There are also several marinas in this area that have fuel and rent boats and jet skis. The State Park is about 10 minutes by boat and 15 minutes by car. It features a boat dock, sandy beach, concession stand, nature tours and plenty of open area. The Westlake area is about 15 minutes by car and is inaccessible by boat. It has a Kroger grocery store, CVS pharmacy, several specialty shops, more restaurants and a movie theater. A new Food Lion grocery store is only 5 minutes from the house.

More Features: The house is located on the end of a quiet cove with few waves and very little boat traffic. My kids love to swim and fish off the dock and there is a canoe available on the dock so you can float around the cove or paddle around the lake. There is a partially covered slip for one boat and a 10' X 20' floater which gives you more options for docking your boat or jet skis. Directly across the street from the house is a large open community area that is great for soccer, football, kickball or Frisbee and can be used for overflow car or boat trailer parking. Two fenced tennis courts are also located here and my sons and I play tennis and throw the lacrosse ball here. But if you are a serious tennis player, the courts are not in the best condition for serious tennis. The tennis courts also have a basketball hoop and the paved surface can be used for other activities.

Very Nice, Relaxing Stay

Home was well equipped with everything we need, and had a King Bed, Queen Bed, an older fouton, and a pyramid bunk. There were plenty of seats for all. The location was perfect, on a somewhat private cove off the lake and very quiet. The dock had a nice sun deck on top, and a place for a boat, should you bring one to the lake. We enjoyed a nice afternoon out on the canoe!

Overall a very relaxing stay in a quite, and beautiful part of the lake!
Recommended for:  Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

Our stay was from the 9th of April to the 20th of April, 2009. My wife and son had a really relaxing time. The weather was pleasant with no cold or hot days. We are from Roanoke and just wanted to be together as a family and God really blessed us. The home was clean and felt like our home. I myself work all the time and needed this break. It was very peaceful here and would come back again if possible. I will close with this, my family and I pray for many blessings to the owners of this home for making it available. “My 4 sisters and I left our husbands at home in Southeast Missouri and visited Smith Mountain Lake from September 22nd thru September 28th. We had friends who visited here in July and enjoyed it very much so we decided to come here and check it out. We had no rain and the temperature was a little warmer than we expected, in the low 90’s. We relaxed on the deck and did a lot of sightseeing. We enjoyed ourselves very much. It is beautiful here. We will recommend it to our friends. Thanks.”
