Hale Pali is a beautiful (smoke free) Oceanfront home, completed spring 2006. The house is located along the rural South Kona Coastline, approximately 45 minutes south of Kailua-Kona. Cooking will be a pleasure, in the fully equipped, Rick Hartman designed, gourmet kitchen. Enjoyable hours can be spent relaxing in our 3,000 gallon, 'natural water feature' or just lounging on our private white sand beach, or you may want to check your email, using our on-site computer (dialup). A perfect day would begin by sitting on the Sea Wall, having coffee, and looking out to sea, while warming to the sun slowly rising over the eastern flank of Mauna Loa. A spectacular “blow-hole” defines the southwestern corner of the property. Afternoons are a fabulous time to nap in the luxury of our generous two-person hammock. Three bedrooms and two baths will comfortably accommodate six to eight guests. We emphasize the relaxation, peace, and quiet of the rural South Kona Coastline.

Additional information about rental rates

  • We are happy to offer special rates starting at just $249 per night. These rates are $50 per night off our regular rates!
    We will also waive the Cleaning Fee (a additional savings of $175).
    The rate for 1 to 4 guests is $249 per night. Rate for 5 or 6 guests is $299 per night, and for 7 or 8 guests the rate is $349 per night.
    Minimum stay is 5 nights. Maximum occupancy is 8 guests.

    At these rates a typical family will save about $525 during a one week visit!

    A 25% non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your chosen dates. The balance is due 60 days prior to your arrival.

Hale Pali - our own little piece of paradise

We rented Hale Pali in the spring of 2008 - we (two couples) had an amazing time and found Carl & Deborah to be the most accommodating of hosts. Everything was in the home that we could possibly have wanted (and more).

Carl - love the work you've done along the front of the house - we'll have to get back there eventually & check it out.

Fabulous House in very isolated area

We've just returned from our Hawaiian vacation, choosing to spend 11 out of 13 nights on the island of Hawaii at Carl and Deborah's beautiful home. The home and decor look like they are right out of House Beautiful and the owners have thought of everything for their visitors. The only reason I'm marking 4 out of 5 is due to the extreme location getting to and fro, as well as our disappointment in the 'spa'. Coming from CA we were under the impression that meant a Jacuzzi, which my husband uses every night for his back pain. We were unaware that water needed to be trucked onto the site every day or so and didn't expect to have folks showing up at various times during the day. The neighbors apparently have an agreement with Carl and Deborah about using their yard for fishing. We had folks in the backyard with flashlights at 2AM. After I spoke with the woman in the group it did stop. Maybe this is part of the 'hang loose' attitude of the island but it was a little unsettling. All in all it was extremely relaxing and we had quality family time.

Exceeded Expectations

The photos do not due justice to the beauty and quality of the home. Every thing we needed was provided and more! Carl became a friend, not just "the owner". Highly recommend renting this slice of paradise. We enjoyed every moment. Especially loved relaxing on the private beach and lava lined pool.

Hale Pali is a beautiful oceanfront property. We enjoyed the sunsets, went snorkeling nearby and had lots of space to sleep, cook and enjoy the amenities. The onsite beach and wading pools were relaxing and fun. We especially enjoyed viewing dolphins and whales off our clifftop viewing point. Tremendous master bedroom, also.

Beautiful home with everything you would ever need

This beautiful home has a very well equipped kitchen big enough for a few cooks to share with plenty of pots, bowls, dishes and appliances. The fridge even filters the drinking water & gives you ice for that Mai Tai. The home also has three bedrooms with a gigantic master bedroom. The lanai (deck) has a(deck) with a 180 degree view of the ocean. You can sit in the sun or out of the sun on the lanai. You can dine outdoors at a table for 2 or at a table for six.The online picture do not do it justice. There is everything you could want. Guide books on the island , boogie boards, a double hammock (my favorite) and the list goes on. The alarm clock even wakes you up with the sound of the ocean (we had to use it on our last day). It can be a spacious romantic place for 2 (as it was for us) but has plenty of room for more. It doesn’t have air conditioning but doesn’t need it. There are plenty of windows and doors that let the ocean breezes flow through. And who wants to shut out the outdoors anyways when you are in Hawaii?! It's a great location if you want to visit both side of the island. Would I recommend it, definitely YES!
