Nature Abound!!: When you're in Delaware looking for knots and turnstones and peeps in the second half of May, head for Slaughter Beach within a few hours of high tide. Horseshoe crabs should be spawning, and where there are eggs, there are birds. The marsh just west of Slaughter Beach has been preserved. Diamondback terrapin babes that hatch on the beach struggle past the houses and across the road to get to the marsh.
Guest Book: Hi Laurie - Now that we have been home a week and been unable to prevent ourselves from getting back to reality, I can take a few minutes to touch base with you... We all had a great time! Although we are avid race fans and that is what brought us to your area, traveling to many tracks, we all agreed that your home and the slaughter beach area was our favorite part of the trip, we have been to many different ocean areas, but this was the most quiet and serene, with all the life you could want within reach, the peace was wonderful! After a long trip on Thursday we grocery shopped and enjoyed cooking and relaxing, Friday we set out for Ocean City and while the guys raced go-karts, I went shopping for a bit, we then checked out the boardwalk and had dinner out. Saturday we enjoyed hanging out at the beach and fishing, we never left that day at all!
