Great location and perfect house

This house was fantastic. It was a home away from home only better. We had 3 generations in our party. The loft, main living room, front room and deck allow lots of space to chill out to privately read a book (lots to choose from), watch TV or congregate to chat. My father-in-law even played the piano a few times. The house worked well for our 2 children - a 9 month old who was just starting to crawl and a 3 year old. There were a lot of ornaments on display which may need to be moved for a 1-2 year old who is mobile and doesn't know not to touch.
The property was very clean and light. We were there during a week of temperatures 80-90 F in mid-July. The bedrooms have A/C units, but the other living areas did not, which was a bit warm if you're not used to the heat. In the evenings, there was usually a cool breeze, but it was pretty still during the day. If you were going to be out at the beach or sightseeing during the day, this wouldn't be a concern.
The kitchen was well stocked with every spice, plate, pot, etc. you could possibly need.
The pond was great - only 100 yards down the hill to a secluded public beach which was great for the kids. The beach was not big - only about 20 feet wide, but is only used by a few local people. We only shared the beach on one day. The rest of the time, we had it to ourselves. The slope is very gradual going into the water and mostly sandy. There are a few stones right at the waters edge, but it is just sand after about 3 feet. The beach is big enough for some beach chairs and for kids to make sand castles, etc. We also walked along the bike trail to 2 other public beaches about half a mile away. The bike trail was only 5 minutes walk away. These beaches were bigger. We took the canoe out as well for a trip around the pond. Adult sized life jackets were supplied. We took one for our 3 year old.
Overall, I would thoroughly recommend this property. It was a great family rental property. The owner was very nice and answered all my questions.
