This rental was even better than it seemed on paper. The location is ideal: center of town but just far enough away to avoid party noise. Much better decorated than most rentals: everything was spare and well designed.
The platform beds were extremely comfortable, the owner was very helpful and non-intrusive. The second story deck lets you be outside in sun or shade and the apartment is always bright from the numerous skylights. The air was a little close but the fans helped. The place was spotless.
When you visit, go right on Commercial St. towards the historic West End. Joe's Coffee is nearby: the pastries are fantastic and the coffee is excellent. There are a number of smaller galleries and restaurants and the quiet neighborhood atmosphere is a relief from the carnival atmosphere found in the central area. Friday night from 7-9 is full of gallery openings in the East End - it's quite a scene in the 300-400 blocks. PAAM - the Provincetown Art Association museum is free on Friday nights.
It was tough to leave. I'd go back in a flash.
