Thanks for a wonderful week at “Our House!” Our 50th anniversary was special to be here & share it with our family.
I retired from Unilever in ’04 after a 33 year career in sales management/marketing. We relocated from Atlanta to Asheville since my wife and I were both from North Carolina and we fell in love with this area. We started with Unilever in Greenville, NC and lived in Charlotte, NC. Richmond , VA. Annapolis, MD. Yardley, PA. and New York before we landed in Atlanta for 13 years. We have two daughters- Etta and Farris.
We bought this property because of the beauty of the area! When we purchased the property it had “Our House” and “My Roundette”. We added 16 acres adjoining to the 8 that was originally purchased. We renovated both the houses using old wood from barns we acquired in the area, wormy chestnut and oak mostly. In 06’ we decided to build another house higher up on the mountain and share “Our House” with others thru vacation rental. Our company, The Cove at Fairview, was started in early 07’. In the fall of 08’ we began renting “My Roundette” that became available when our youngest daughter married and then purchased a house close by. The company was started by the desire to have both daughters remain in this area working with us, therefore we became a family business!
A few of the benefit of staying at “The Cove at Fairview” properties are as follows:
• Homes utilizing reclaimed wood both with walls/trim.
• Comfortable beds featuring Egyptian cotton linens.
• Handmade furniture from reclaimed wood - wormy chestnut and oak.
• Antique furniture including dressers and an ice chest.
• Fully equipped kitchens with gas and charcoal grills.
• Waterfalls with Koi fish in three small ponds with picnic tables, a hammock, and a swing to enjoy outdoor relaxing outside.
• Animals- Horses, Chickens, and cats are in our barn area for visiting and enjoying.
• Fresh eggs are made available to our guest as well as homemade bread.
• Being able to use all the amenities of one of the areas most exclusive private country clubs- including golf, tennis, swimming, dinning, as well as meeting facilities.
Our guest say a huge benefit is the peacefulness of the property- the majority leave refreshed from their vacation. Being located within close proximity of all the Asheville and Western North Carolina attractions provides visitors with many choices.
