Wellpark is situated in the picturesque village of Oughterard, by the river Owenriff, near Lake Corrib. It lies only 20mins. drive from fascinating Galway, with Theatres, Shopping, Singing Pubs & restaurants. In one acre of lush garden, lawns and orchard, it has its own, separate, specially designed BBQ Garden, a delightful large farmhouse kitchen with open fire, French windows opening onto a Conservatory/SunRoom, aromatic turf fires and winding staircase. A large country house, it lends itself to family gatherings. Welcome to Wellpark and Ireland: The house offers traditional dining and drawing room - 2 king size beds, phone (incoming) - Satellite TV and VCR. A specially designed barbecue garden, hand made in local stone, with garden table and seating set under the shade of an apple tree & surrounded by fuchsia hedges. Wellpark faces the Owenriff River and is only 5 minutes from Lough Corrib. The region is an anglers paradise, famous for its brown trout, pike and salmon fishing. Boats and local ghillies (guides) may be booked (fish freezer provided). Baby-sitting and maid service is available by arrangement and children are welcome. There is plenty to see and do locally including singing pubs, the Aran Isles, castles or a visit to Galway City to visit the theatre, go to the races, or discover the excellent shops with fine porcelain, crystal and hand knit sweaters. Irish Cuisine is wholesome and fresh - try the freshly caught Galway Bay prawns, wild lake salmon or wild blackberry and apple pie & fresh cream.Dublin only 140min.

With the Dublin - Galway Motorway now completed, clients will be pleased to learn that the drive now only takes one hour 50mins (Plus the 20min from Galway to Oughterard and Wellpark!)

P.C.- Brussels, Belgium - Sept. 2001 'I would like to tell you how much we enjoyed our stay in Wellpark House. Your house is very elegant, extremely comfortable and wonderfully well - equipped. The good weather enabled us to take advantage of the lovely gardens and to do some touring in the region - we hope we will be able to repeat the experience.'(repeated in 2002)
A.B.- England - 'Just back from another lovely week in Wellpark - caught 57 Fish! - a record for us - just 5 of us. Book us again. (They have repeated the holiday 10 years running!)

Thought we should drop a line to say how much we enjoyed staying at your beautiful house last weekend.I have been visiting Oughterard for over 30 years. Having Wellpark as a base and enjoying the real character of the building and its location made our favourite destination even better.
As my youngest daughter was going abroad, we decided to have a family get-together before she left.Having most of our little clan sat laughing around round that fabulous kitchen table with the peat fire burning away in the corner, was a great feeling.We wish it could have been longer and hope it will.We just wanted to ell you that you have a special place there. The expanding Aer Arann flights make it more accessible for shorter, spontaneous breaks.We will be back in touch.

A great place to stay in Western Ireland

Our family trip (8 of us) to Ireland, for Christmas, was made very special by our stay at the Wellpark House.

Just outside the village of Oughterard in County Galway, you will find the Wellpark House. Just as described by Geraldine, our host, the house is a beautiful Georgian style home in western Ireland.

Wellpark has everything you need for a large group. Many beautifully decorated bedrooms, with full bathrooms on both the 1st and 2nd floor. Two fireplaces for peat fires. Geraldine even supplied a Christmas tree with lights for our family Christmas.

The kitchen is huge, with plenty of seating for all. Off the kitchen is a very nice sun room. The rest of the first floor has a full dining room, and living room too.

Plenty of room out back with a small barn in the back corner of the yard, that is very picturesque.

Julia, who works for Geraldine, was very helpful in getting us up to speed on all of the workings of the Wellpark House.

Oughterard is the perfect Irish village, plenty of shoppes, pubs, and places to see. Plus the people are fantastic.

If you're planning a trip to the west coast of Ireland, Wellpark House is the place to stay!

Una settimana trascorsa nella piu completa tranquillità con escursione da sogno e colori splendidi. Una vacanza magnificain una casa da favola con grandi confort e sopratutto immerso in un verde intenso di un parco meraviglioso. Third visit to Wellpark- Christmas 2010

We are just leaving after our third visit to Wellpark. We have seen the whole are covered in frost and snow and it was so beautiful. Thank you Julia for all the help!
