Wonderful Family Beach Vacation

Had an absolutely wonderful family beach vacation at 'Diamond of Destiny' – my wife and I, our 3 children and their spouses and 5 grandchildren, ages 2 thru 9. The house is well-appointed, very comfortable and best of all -- is located on a magnificent semi-private beach that is nicely apart and away from the public beaches that were understandably more crowded and raucous during the Spring Break. The beach, a few steps off the rear patio, is a real treasure of soft white sand, wide and seemingly endless – great for long walks, jogging or bike riding. The house is in gated, beach-front community that is well-controlled and very quiet, and is also very convenient to shopping, groceries, restaurants, etc. There is a community pool for a pleasant, refreshing alternative to the beach.
The two beach setups (2 umbrellas and 4 chairs) were a major bonus that guaranteed always having a comfortable spot on the beach, close to the house at just the right distance from the shoreline. Great for keeping an eye on the children as they scampered about in and out of the water, building sand castles, etc.
The children enjoyed the playground that is a short walk to the public beach that adjoins the property. We dined at Harbor Docks and Louisiana Lagniappe, both are very enjoyable. Some did the morning yoga sessions at the public beach nearby. Everybody jogged and walked the beach. Some went to the State Park. The kids enjoyed go-cart racing. Went fishing on the Lady Em – lots of fun, great views of Destin and caught a lot of fish. If fishing, do it early in your stay so you have a chance to cook and enjoy your catch.
We have done many beach vacations in Florida, the Outer Banks and Mexico and the property is always a major factor in the experience. Being right on the beach is an essential feature that maximizes the attraction and convenience for everyone and everything. 'Diamond of Destiny' ranks right up with our best experiences. The VRBO description is very accurate. The well–equipped kitchen should satisfy the most demanding chefs and households. The layout of bedrooms and bathrooms provide ample privacy for the couples and the kitchen, dining/bar area, family room and deck are great common areas for dining, cooking and just being together and relaxing. The kids loved being together in the bunk room.
'Diamond of Destiny' is highly recommended.
