Jill and her family have lived in Anchorage for 52 years. She was born in Fairbanks. We are familiar with Anchorage, and fun things to do while you are here.
Jill Maxwell and Family purchased this apartment in 2001
This property is in a great LOCATION! We have lived in other mid-town areas of Anchorage. We like being close to everything--yet we had always picked our homes based on Southern Exposure and bike trails/greenbelts/ creeks in our back 'yard' area. This location has it ALL!!!
This is a huge unit. It is across from a quiet forested area with moose and birds. 1/2 block down a path are the the creek, bike trails, bridges, community gardents, playground, and baseball fields. We are on the same street (2 blocks) from the Major Anchorage Sports Arena --The Sullivan, and 5 blocks from the major events, theatres, and restaurants that are downtown.
We used this rental as "our base" for exploring Alaska in the Anchorage area! This rental worked perfect for us! It was clean, spacious and plenty of beds for our party of 5 (with room for more)! The location is perfect, within walking distance of downtown Anchorage. Jill was wonderful, and let us use her bikes to ride the nearby bike paths. It was nice to be able to do laundry as well, before heading to our next Alaskan destination! Jill was willing to help with suggestions, directions, etc.
A great experience in beautiful Alaska! Enjoy!
We stayed at Jill's rental for a week. It was a comfortable home away from home while we were in town to run the Mayor's midnight sun marathon. We had 5 adults in our party and found the rental spacious for all of us. The house was conveniently location for the marathon as well as for a central base for day trips from Anchorage.
Only negative was short showers to have enough hot water for all 5 of us. We started to stagger times in the shower and that worked out fine.
Jill greeted us at the rental and gave us goid recommendations for dinner and places to see. She startex our stay out nicely. I Would stay there again if I find myself in Anchorage again. Thanks Jill.
Myself, my assistant coach and 9 young athletes stayed here and it was perfect. There were enough beds/mattresses for everyone, the kitchen was plenty big to accommodate myself and all the little helpers, and Jill was very helpful and flexible when we needed it. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and pans and everything was easy to use. The driveway was tricky in the winter with our 15 passenger van -- be ware!
I would recommend this VRBO to anyone interested in exploring Anchorage and the surrounding area. You need to take a trip down the Seward Hwy. to Girdwood, the scenery is wonderful and you can find good food. Try Harvey's Old Tyme Cafe for great seafood bisque on Friday, the Glacier Brewhouse and Kinley's for good eats in Anchorage and the F Street Station for a "Cheers" Type atmosphere for a drink.
We had a wonderful stay here. Seven adults stayed comfortably with one on self inflating mattress in the living room. The owners live upstairs and were available and helpful if we needed them, very nice and friendly. They fixed the wifi so we had reception in our unit. A few things were pretty dated but that didn't hamper our enjoyment of the home. The location was convenient and attractive, facing a park.
We had an awesome time staying here! Centrally located, quiet with loads of room and amenities. Great base for seeing the sites of Anchorage and the area. Jill was an excellent host and catered to all our requests.
Bikes available to borrow at no cost.
