A comfortable house situated in a quiet place

  • 5 of 5

The house is equipped with central heating and a big fireplace, which we did appreciate, since we stayed there in January. The house is very comfortable (we were 8 adults) and situated in a nice and quiet area. Nearby, there is a farm, where you can buy cheese, eggs, olive oil ans so on (all biological). You can even ask for a woman to come and cook a typical Tuscanian meal (We tasted it and found it very good ! ).But that summary would not be complete without mentioning the owner's kindness : Alfredo was very attentive to our comfort and very reactive to our demands. We would strongly recommend this property to a friend or relative.

The Perfect Vacation

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at Borgo Fajani with four of my closest girlfriends. We were looking for a location where we could not only relax and spend quality time with each other, but also a place where we could easily enjoy the many things that Tuscany has to offer. At Borgo Fajani, we found what we were looking for and so much more.

Of the four rental units, we rented Casa Lanciotto, a charming, clean, and well-kept villa where each of us had our own spacious and comfortable room. Here, we had everything we needed: privacy when we wanted it, a full kitchen where we could prepare our own meals, three separate bathrooms, an inviting common area, and breathtaking views of the idyllic Tuscan countryside.

There was so much at our fingertips. If we wanted to take it easy, we made use of the property’s picturesque terrace and pool and we would relax and soak up the Tuscan sun. Or, we would grill a meal and dine alfresco on the patio amidst the beauty surrounding us. For a more active day, there was so much to explore. Borgo Fajani lies in the heart of Tuscany. For day trips, it is more or less an hour or so drive to Pisa, Lucca, Volterra, Sienna, San Gimignano and Florence.

It’s also an excellent place for the gourmand. There is a small farm within the hamlet. Here, we were able to buy fresh eggs, cheese, bread, yogurt and other artisanal delights from the wonderful Signora who runs the farm. Every morning, a local baker drives by the gates of the hamlet to sell freshly baked bread. In a few minutes drive, we were able to sample regional salumi or dine in some of the restaurants of the nearby cities Peccioli and Terricciola. Vineyards abound in this area of Tuscany, and for the oenophile, there are many places that offer vineyard tours and wine tastings.

Another added bonus to this amazing place is Borgo Fajani’s proprietor. He is extremely kind, helpful, and resourceful. Any questions that arose during our time there, he was more than readily available and sincere to answer. Through him, we were able to hire a local Segnora to prepare a meal for us on the last night our stay. It was such a delicious and memorable meal, that we left wishing we had booked her more than once!

All in all, your vacation will be what you make of it. But, I must say, that if you stay at Borgo Fajani, it is so easy to make yours the ultimate and quintessential Tuscan experience.

STUNNING VIEW / COUNTRYSIDE / RELAX

  • 4 of 5

Everything was fabulous. My husband and 4 college boys spent 3 nights in this wonderful countryside home. The property is wonderful. The 12 century monastery which is part of the Hamlet was beautiful to explore (only exterior) however make sure to go and try and buy the cheeses and yogurt and other treats they sell. Go early for eggs because they sell out. The cheeses were wonderful as was the beautiful space where they sell and store the cheese. The owner of the house was sick so could not great us however the booklet he left for us gave us all the instructions we needed.... the supermarket, the butcher, the fresh produce place, restaurants.... everything was great. you truly feel like a local. no tourists here! florence is an hour away. tough for us for a day trip although we tried. just wasnt our thing with all the tourists and we just wanted to get back to the comfort of the house and our spectacular views. we loved walking around the hamlet and seeing the farm animals, the garden with fresh produce (not for guests thought), the farm equipment, the little dogs. we loved cooking and enjoying the view from every angle of the house - day and night. the outside kitchen was beautiful to sit at in the evenings. siena was one and a half hours away. the countryside drive was spectacular! the best was one morning waking up to a woman outside singing in the most beautiful voice walking the fields of the fresh produce / vineyards in the mist. it was truly something out of a movie. thank you to whoever she was. the house was very neat and clean. there were a lot of lady bugs for some reason and some other insects but none that bother you. just part of being in the countryside.

GREAT

  • 5 of 5

It is a great house and so Tuscany authentic. Very nice kitchen with a look to the fields. 5 nice bedrooms. Clean house and a very nice and helpfull landlord. Just beside (30 meters) to a small shop selling organic eggs, cheese and oliveoils, 100 meters to one af the best winemakers (La Spinetta . free tours and VERY tastefull wines) etc.

I could continue, but you have to try it your selve. My very best recommendations.

Recreation and Tradition

  • 5 of 5

Our one-week stay in Borgo Fajani (Casa Lanciotto) was unforgettable. It is an ideal place for all who want to relax: admire the views, swim in the pool, drink wine, buy local products (tomatoes, cheese, yoghurt etc.) and enjoy all the tastes of this gorgeous hill with its interesting history and thrilling secrets. You can easily visit the famous cities of Tuscany (we went sightseeing in Florence, Pisa, Volterra, San Gimignano), as well as the surrounding smaller towns, and then return to the clean, silent, quiet and comfortable rooms. We all (a nine-person group from Poland) were also impressed by Alfredo's hospitality and helpfulness.

Great place to stay

  • 4 of 5

Three adults stayed in Il Signorino and enjoyed everything about the villa and the surrounding areas. We had a car, which is a must for staying here. We had difficulty getting accurate directions but and we got lost getting there, but once we got there, everything was great. The hamlet of Casanova is charming - make sure to visit the local cheese store - we waited until the last day and wish we had done it earlier in our stay. Alfredo was helpful with information we needed. We would definitely consider staying here again. The proximity to everything we wanted in Tuscany was great. And the farmhouse was very charming.
