Terricciola Vacation Rental house: Casanova - Terricciola

We were a party of 8 who stayed at Villa Lanciotto for 1 week in July. The villa was very clean & well maintained, and had all our basic needs. The owner Alfredo was most helpful from the very first email sent to make the booking, he answered all our questions immediately, and while staying at the villa Alfredo visited us everyday to make sure all was fine. The accommodation is in a very rural, picturesque setting, but not all the bedrooms look out onto the beautiful view. The white bedding was very clean & fresh. There are some very steep stairs to enter the first floor of the building and then again for the very top bedroom which has a low ceiling. We would have preferred one more bathroom (there are 2), this could be built on the top floor. On one occassion we hired Flora a local lady to cook a meal for us which was fantastic! There are local shops a drive away for most shopping, but tomatoes, auberigines, eggs etc can be bought in the little hamlet. The swimming pool was most welcome as the weather was exceedingly hot this particular week, also the terrace where it was cool and shady, a lovely spot to eat, read or relax. There are also several restaurants a drive away, one in particular that we all liked was "Susanne & Massimo". The villa is in the wine district, so vineyards to visit too. We found plenty of sightseeing in the beauiful countryside and interesting, quaint towns and villages. You do need a car to get around, driving is easy, parking not hard to find, and only an hour or so away from Pisa Airport. We all loved the area and experience, and we would go back tomorrow, we felt that we were in the heart of Tuscany.
