we were looking for a house to share between two couples and this house was excellent.we come from western Australia where summers are hot , so a winter break in a place like "splash " looked ideal. warm weather this year made the stay magnificent.Right on the water front, we sat out in the warm evenings drinking long island tea , had local raw fish from the fish man in the neighbor hood. and had a truly great time here.Cooking and laundry on site made life a breeze. this relaxed atmosphere at home helped us plan our days out with easy drive to many interesting places. Surfs up close to Wiamea bay and the beaches were amazing . Our host was excellent and extremely helpfull. many thanks we loved our time here.
We travelled fron Perth in western australia to stay at this magnifficent location. We were not dissapointed. If you are looking for the hustle and bustle of a resort location then this will not suit you.It is quiet and peacefull where you are lulled to sleep by the waves gently breaking against the rock wall outside your bedroom,You are woken by the same to view magnifficent sunrises. Be aware that there are not much in the way off fancy restaurants about, but the shrimp vans are well worth the effort and fresh fish is available around the corner.Supermarkets are well stocked and close by. You will need a hire car as it it a fare way from waikaki and the attractions on that side but there is a bus service..Darcelle was an excellent host and provided all the things for a great vacation and was a great sounding board for info and tips. Would highly recommend this place for anyone who wants to get away from the huslte and busltle of modern life. Can twait to return Mahalo Graham and Helen
My wife, brother, and mother stayed in this bungalow for a week. Needless to say, I wish I was still there. This place is not on the beach, it's waterfront. Your backyard is the ocean. There is a wall separating the backyard from the ocean! Waves crash up against it and spray into the backyard. Pictures do not do this place justice. It is incredible!
The North Shore of Oahu is a relaxing place. But staying at a resort is for tourists. If you want to do it right, this property is what you are looking for. We were away from the crowds, in the most peaceful of areas. The bungalow is exceptionally clean. There is a full kitchen, two bathrooms, and almost every room is equipped with ocean views. And if that's not enough, there are boogey boards, snorkel gear, water shoes, sunblock, beach towels, etc. You name it, they already thought of it and you have it at your disposal. Darcelle is the owner of the property and she will make sure you have everything you need during your stay. She greeted us upon arrival and told us just about everything that we needed to know. She is very sweet and accommodating. Thanks Darcelle!
Do yourself a favor: skip the resorts, book a stay at Darcelle's bungalow, stay for as long as you can and enjoy this beautiful home away from home. I want to live here permanently, but I don't think Darcelle will let me. :) Mahalo!
My husband and our teenage son and I had a glorious stay at Splash. We loved Darcelle and are going back in December 2014. Little Skipper the cat was our best buddy. We cooked fresh fresh caught from the neighbor and enjoyed every minute we were there. I have to sleep with it cool at night and I was perfectly comfortable in the room with no air conditioning. In fact, only the son used the AC on a night until cooled down. WE CANNOT WAIT for our next trip there. See you soon Darcelle!!!!
We stayed for a week. There were 4 forever young people together. It was so calming being at the waterside for that long. The bungalow was perfect. Plenty of room for us. The kitchen was perfect, we cooked several meals. We played cards at the dining table.
We slept so peacefully with the windows open. Perfect breezes off the water kept us cool and comfortable for sleeping.
Loved it! Clean, comfortable and convenient!
My husband and I stayed at Splash for a week and wish it could have been more. We loved it! The house itself is lovely, comfortable, and accommodated our needs. We cooked breakfast and supper there every night. The most amazing thing for us was spending time on the deck watching the sunrise every morning and listening/watching the ocean. The sunrises were breathtaking. The owner was so nice, friendly, and helpful, as well. We would absolutely stay here again and would recommend it to others visiting the island!
