Wonderful break from city living for a week with the kids! House works incredibly well with kids and everyone can be together and hang out or go and get some private time. Chris is incredibly accommodating. The views from the house are incredible and peaceful! There was a ton of snow on the ground and the lake was mostly frozen so it kind of looked like something out of a syfy movie! Kitchen was great for entertaining too!
This property is absolutely amazing! We've spent a few weeks here during winter. I've grown up on Lake Mi but never been on/to the lake in the winter. It's beautiful. Words can't properly describe the beauty! We've spent every day walking the beach... Yes, in the winter! Deer have come right up to the house, 14 of them! We have sat in the hot tub every night, watching the snow flakes.
Now, about this amazing house! I feel like I'm at home! There is everything you could possibly need! Each room is beautifully decorated. The house is immaculate. The kitchen has a Viking professional stove, which I was very excited to use! Stocked with every type of pot/pan & utensil you made need! They even had the spices my meal required!
The older kids have made use of the billards/game room! It's been a great area for them to hang out in. While the little kids have loved the lower level! Stocked with toys, and a farm theme!
You couldn't ask for anything better! The owner is so accommodating & helpful! We hope to make it back in the summer months! But honestly, it's beautiful here every season. It nice to step away from reality, and slow down!
We spent a wonderful week at this awesome house from Nov. 8th to Nov. 15th, 2013. There were deer within feet of us numerous times on the lot and we saw an eagle take a big fish out of the lake. The lake view is breathtaking, as well as listening to the sound of it at night. There is internet to help you keep up with what's going on at home, a super hot tub, and a pool table for in-house entertainment. The local area is packed with wineries, breweries, great places to eat and shop, and lots to see. We cooked at the house and made many enjoyable meals--the kitchen is stocked like no other. Had a great prime rib/frogleg dinner at the Stable Inn on Thursday evening (special), can't beat it. We loved our week at this house! Chris and Deanna (owners) are super people, very gracious, accommodating, family-oriented, and down-to-earth. Thank you for allowing us to share your home! Anyone considering this rental, please rest assured that you will have an enjoyable time and you will be glad you rented it.
The setting is beyond spectacular. It literally took my breath away. The tree that graces the lawn between the house and the lake is epic. It must be seen to be believed. The house is large and very comfortable. My family created wonderful memories in this beautiful place. We will be forever grateful. Chloe King (LA, CA)
My family spent a wonderful weekend in this beautiful home. There were 10 of us who slept here with 3 more who spent the day at the house. The house design is perfect for having areas where you can spend some quiet time as well as large common living areas with seating for everyone. The atmosphere is very inviting and we all felt very comfortable and at home. The kitchen is very accommodating for all food preparation needs. Plenty of utensils, cook ware, and place settings for all of us. The view of Lake Michigan is beautiful, especially from the top floor bedroom. We had an overcast, rainy weekend, but I am sure the sunsets are amazing on clear days. The pool wasn't open, yet, but several family members spent time in the hot tub. We played a lot of games around the dining room table. The pool table and foosball table on the "man cave" level were a big hit with everyone. We didn't use the fireplace, but there is one on that level as well. Would be an ideal place to spend a winter afternoon. My oldest daughter, her husband, and their 2 kids were quite comfortable in the lower level compound with the 2 adjoining bedrooms and a bathroom. The first bedroom is so sweet with all the farm animals on the walls. Plus, it was a bonus to have some toys for the kids in that room as well. There are 6 very nicely decorated and comfortable bedrooms that easily sleep 12 people. Since the description of the property says it sleeps 16, we figure that the 3 couches plus a portable (pack and play) crib accommodate the other 4. Liquid hand soap is provided at all the sinks. However, if you want bar soap for your shower be sure to bring that with you. Or, it was a very nice convenience to have a Meijer about 2 miles from the house. We actually didn't bring any food with us and shopped when we arrived. There are also restaurants and other shopping options close by. Sat. we took a tour of The Hackley and Hume Historic Site, which was very interesting as well as affordable at only $3/person for a guided tour. Our tour was followed by a tasty lunch at Pints and Quarts Pub and Grill. Lake Michigan is one of our family's favorite destinations for vacation. We aren't usually particular about which town we are close to, but now that we've found this rental home, we'll be thinking of Muskegon and this home as our first choice when our entire family wants to be together. Highly recommend staying here.
This was the first time in 4 years that my husband's family was able to get together and this house was perfect for all of us! There were 16 of us staying at the house. We felt like we could spread out when necessary but come together and share some good family time, too. Chris is so accommodating and so nice to deal with! We want to do it again next year! The house is beautiful and the view of Lake Michigan is amazing! Thanks Chris!
