Serenity at its best! This charming direct lake front home on the public side of Lake Anna is the one to visit. Relax on almost 2 acres of woods in the small sub-division of Child's Cove. The 250' waterfront shoreline is just waiting for fun and memories to happen. This home provides 1 boat slip, a jet-ski lift, large sun deck and beach area to wade your feet in the water. It is close to the State park, a marina and the only waterfront restaurant on the lake. The cove is deep water and quiet, perfect for that guest who likes to throw a fishing line. The interior of the home boasts 3 well appointed bedrooms in which 2 have direct waterfront views and 2 full baths. There is a loft which is a great kid's zone for sleeping and entertaining. The comfy living room also has a direct water view of the lake with a gracious deck that is accessed from the living room or either waterfront bedroom. The galley kitchen and dining area is well stocked for entertaining. All that is missing is you!

Notes: Re: Internet - there is access if you bring your own lap top and then dial in using the phone line. You would need to find from your internet provider what the local phone line connection number is for Spotsylvania VA. since the phone has a block and only allows locals calls to be made out. Also if you have wireless set up you can access your own internet. We are still rural enough that cable for the internet or high speed connection is not available. Note: New for 2007 - We have added a slide off the dock so kids swoosh into the lake anna water and we have an outside shower on the dock to rinse off the little sand babies. About Lake Anna:: Lake Anna is the second largest lake located entirely in Virginia. It encompasses 250 miles of shoreline and 13,000 acres of water. The lake is 17 miles long and surrounded by farms and forest. Lake Anna has 2 sections, the main or public lake and the private side. The public section consists of 9,600 acres and where you will find marinas, restaurants and commercial business. The private side is divided by 3 rock dikes and consists of 3,400 acres and there is no public access unless you own property on that section. That means there are no public boat ramps or marinas, only homes adorn the shoreline.

Attractions:: There is boating, jet-skiing, fishing and water activities on Lake Anna, but there are many other activities to enjoy while visiting this area and they include: Lake Anna State Park, Wineries (Lake Anna Winery & Cooper Winery), Kings Dominion Theme Park, Fredericksburg & Spotsylvania National Military Park, Bluemont Concert, Monticello (Thomas Jefferson's Home), Montpelier (James & Dolly Madison's Home), battlefields, places to shop. We are nearby Fredericksburg, Culpeper and Charlottesville.

The Ideal Lake Home

This home was very clean when we arrived, with so many nice touches - landscaping, flowers at the door, welcome gifts/snacks, etc; we fell in love with it as we walked through the door! And then the view from the decks and bedrooms - awesome!
The owners are so pleasant, friendly, and easy to work with; they answered every question we had on- line promptly and with lots of information. We now consider them our friends!
We had three generations staying at the home, and there was lots of room for everyone. It was so nice that all 8 of us could fit comfortably around the dining room table - for meals and playing games. The 2 yr. old and 5 yr. old loved the new slide and the awesome beach; we ALL loved swimming in the cove. The new shower at the dock/beach was so nice to rinse the kids off before heading up the steps.
We brought our 23' ski boat with us, and all of us agree that Lake Anna is the best lake yet - after serching for several summers to find one that "fits" our family - this home and lake is a winner! Lots of nice calm water for skiing, tubing, etc. The dock, its location, and water depth was great for docking our boat; the hanging chairs were sooooo comfy!
It was really nice to have the beds made when we arrived; I appreciated having a washer/dryer to use, and paper supplies to get our vacation started. And we loved the air conditioning!
We can't wait to go back in 2008!

We always travel to stay with family or friends. We needed a vacation for just our family this year. What a fabulous and relaxing time we had! The house has everything and more! The home is beautiful- very clean, neat, organized and very comfortable. It's a perfect home for children. One wakes up with a gorgeous view of the lake. The cove where the home is has clean, deep water and always felt safe. There's a slide for the kids (us adults went off of it also). The sandbox is huge! The kids spent lots of time in it. We took along our canoe to explore the edges of the open part of the lake. During the week the lake is calm and pretty quiet. From the inside of the home, there's pretty much a lake view from the entire house. The decks are beautiful and well kept. One of the things we really liked was the many, many different seating areas. A small back deck (porch), lake-front upper deck, middle deck and lower deck. They all have seating areas. There are 2 air chairs, a bench swing, a hammock and about 3 picnic tables.

We don't have one negative comment about this home - and I'm a picky person - well, just one, that we couldn't stay another week!

This is a wonderful property that comes with everything you'll need, even some drinks in the fridge. A very child friendly home that works for all ages as well. Swim, boat or just relax on the wonderful deck.
Can't wait to visit again.
