Spectacular views from our comfortable waterfront home on beautiful Sproat Lake just ten minutes west of Port Alberni on Vancouver Island! Relax in this spacious home with private wharf and mountain views.

Crystal clear fresh mountain water just perfect for boating, swimming, and water skiing. Near the World Famous Martin Mars water bombers and enroute to Tofino, Long Beach and Pacific Rim National Park.

Surrounded by trees and gardens, the property enjoys stunning views of Sproat Lake and Mount Arrowsmith. An extensive lawn leads to 100 feet of private pebble/sandy beach. The dock with mooring provides water access for swimming, boating, water skiing or sunbathing. Every day about 4pm the wind comes up to cool down the sand and is perfect for windsurfing.

Our lake home is warm and rustic, with lots of space for families. With 2600 square feet, the main floor has three bedrooms with two queen-size beds and a kids' room with bunk beds and a fully-equipped kitchen and living area. The deck spans the main floor, and offers terrific views of the lake from the umbrella-covered table and chairs, near the barbeque. The lower level has a walkout to the grass area, with twin beds in the bedroom and separate two piece bathroom and guest laundry. Everything you might need for a week at the lake is included, such as kids' toys, movies, books, as well as beach towels, deck furniture, outdoor toys, barbeque and kayak.

There is a binder of local information provided in our home to make your stay more enjoyable and experience some of the great natural outdoors the Alberni Valley has to offer.

Why Lisa chose Port Alberni

I grew up living at Sproat Lake every summer, and thought it would be a great place for others to experience summertime on the water. So much of Sproat Lake is in the perfectly clear water, the calm mornings, the Canada geese and loons that swim by, and the view of the surrounding snow-covered mountains.

What makes this house unique

Crystal clear mountain-fed lake offers tremendous opportunities to enjoy the great BC scenery. Fishing, waterskiing, kayaking and swimming of course, are a great way to spend your summer!

Such a wonderful location and cosy home. We loved the spacious accommodations and dealing with the owner was so easy and enjoyable. Anyone who visited us just raved about how lucky we were to have found such a fabulous place. Thanks so much Lisa for sharing your beautiful home. The private beach, amazing lake views and the outdoor fire pit were just some of the highlights that were enjoyed everyday. Even our dog had a grand time chasing the rabbits!!

What a wonderful experience!

This property did more than delight - it surpasses expectations. The property is large - plenty of room for the 8 of us in house and ample parking too! It was quiet and secure (very private) and lots of places to enjoy the 'outdoors' including a protected walking trail across the street that we all thoroughly enjoyed! The description of the property reflected EXACTLY what to expect when you arrived; the web photos (albeit great on the site) can't do this property justice! It's a great stay for a family! From the 'kids loft' area to the beach towels (included in the stay); the washing machine/dryer, dishwasher and all other amenities. Great place for a "bunch" of people to hang out... and the veranda (where we spent every meal because of the view) was spectacular! So very comfortable and enjoyable! We felt the property was worth the cost of the rental fee AND we were allowed to take our two small dogs with us - they thoroughly enjoyed the stay too. We called it our "little piece of heaven on earth" while we stayed and it is SO much more.

Wonderful Family Week!

We have stayed at the Dempsey's cottage home for 2 years with our family. What a wonderful time we have had! The home is large enough for our children and now grandchildren. The beach is so welcoming for the little ones to swim as well as the brave ones to jump off the dock. The dock is also very well built and can accomodate a boat. It is always fun to watch the water bombers take off and land right in front of the place. Some of us took day trips to Tofino, or in to Port Alberni to shop. We highly recommend this as a gorgeous place to stay!
