A charming lakefront cottage in the foothills of the beautiful Berkshire Mountains. Located on a peaceful lake with a private dock & shorefront with gorgeous lake & Mtn views. Rest in the large screened-in porch that is spacious enough to entertain in while watching the magestic wildlife (blue herons nest nearby). Twin Lakes is known for its great fishing (a trophy lake) West Twin has no public access, so it’s very quiet. The cottage has two bedrooms, one bath and a new pullout couch; can sleep from 4-6. The open living room and dining room has a large fireplace. It comes with a canoe, sailboat, two kayaks and is pet friendly. Many fantastic restaurants, beautiful golf courses, tennis, quaint shops as well as bike trails, hiking on Appalachian Mtn trial & skiing few mins away. Newly renovated in 2011; all new deck, sceened-in porch, new large soft queen-size pull-out couch, queen bed, bathroom fixtures, flat screen TV, wireless internet. 800sq ft interior 950sq ft includes screenporch

Theaters, Music, Movies, Shopping, Restaurants: Broadway stars join many productions in the local theaters of Triarts in Sharon, CT and The Berkshire Theater Festival in Stockbridge. Enjoy the many talented musicians at Tanglewood, Music Mountain, and Berkshire Choral. There are several movie theaters, some include dinner. Your taste buds will be pleased with the variety great restaurants in the area. Visit the many intriguing antique and gift shops as well as Lee Outlets stores 40 minutes away.

Golf, Tennis, Biking Hiking, Swimming & Nature: Play golf on one of eight scenic golf courses only 10 –20 minutes away. Several paddle and tennis courts are available. Go biking on the various bike trails that includes three states, and scenic roads. The Town beach has a playground, and swimming, canoeing and sailing lessons for children. The Sharon Audubon offers nature walks, bird watching and educational programs for kids. Hike on the Appalachian Mtn trail and see panoramic views of three states and two mountian ranges. Catamount ski area is close by and in the summer has a great ropes course for all ages. Downhill skiing is only 15-20 mins away at Catmount and Butternut Ski Areas in nearby Gt Barrrington, Mass. From beginner skiers to experts, everyone can enjoy these easy to get to areas that are cheaper and less crouded than going further north.

History, Art Galleries, Museums: Being one of the oldest towns in Connecticut, many historical landmarks and guided talks about Salisbury’s importance in the Revolutionary War. Norman Rockwell Museum, Shaker Museum and Clark Institute are not far away in Mass. Jacob’s Pillow in Stockbridge has various dance companies perform. There are three art galleries in Lakeville as well as others in the area.

Lakeville/Salisbury, CT is in the northwest corner of Connecticut. It is 2 1/2 hours from New York City and easily accessible to Metro-North, Wassaic train station. Biking, hiking or driving through this area you will enjoy the gorgeous scenic lakes, mountains and relaxed country atmosphere. There are bike and hiking trails (Appalachian Mtn trail), tennis, golf, gift and antiques stores, summer stock theaters, art galleries and many wonderful restaurants. Western Massachusetts which includes the quaint villages of Stockbridge home to Norman Rockwell Museum and Tanglewood. There are several lakes and a town recreation center offering swimming and children’s activities.

Golf: There are many beautiful golf courses in the area.

Ski: Ski the Berkshires! Cottage is 15 minutes away from Catamount Ski Area, 20 minutes from Butternut Ski area, less than an hour from Jimny Peak. All great ski areas in the Berkshires. Easy to get to - no traffic and not as crowded as NH & VT areas.

Grill salmon on gas or charcoal grill. Lounge in chaises by the water and soak up the rays or read. Use the fire pit for smores or hot dogs, etc.

A Little Slice of Heaven

I have just finished my second summer at this cottage (I also came up for a weekend last winter), and I am very passionate about the experience. It is a marvelous getaway, and the perfect tonic for the stress-related symptoms of urban/suburban living.

The cottage is unpretentious, yet altogether inviting. The owners have made updates recently, including a new master bed and living room couch (both quite comfortable), screened in porch (aaah!), and central air. The kitchen is well equipped, and the place is thoroughly cleaned between guests. There's hardly anything you need to bring.

The highlight for me is the dock, which overlooks the cove of the smaller of the Twin Lakes. The view is always tranquil, yet changes subtly with the weather and time of day. The kayaks, canoe and sunfish provide for some physical activity and entertainment. There's also good biking opportunities right from the house.

I have found a number of very good restaurants within 15 minutes of the cottage, and also love having The Infinity Music Hall so close by.

The owners, who live next door, are terrific "hosts". They are attentive (but not intrusive), accommodating, and most pleasant people.

Comfy, nice water view, like it!

This is a nice, cozy spot on the lake. Kitchen is well-equipped and we love the fireplace (wood provided)! Very peaceful place, but also great for activities, if you choose. They have a canoe and kayaks, which look to be in good condition. We were there in November, so we didn't use them though.
Owner is very nice and maintains property well. Security deposit is required. TV is nice, but with very limited stations.
We recommend this cottage to folks who particularly enjoy being on the water for a wonderful getaway.

Family Fun on Twin Lakes

Dear Home Owners,
We thank you very much for letting us stay in your cottage. We really enjoyed it. We went on the boats and fished. The cabin was very cozy with comfortable beds. The lake was an amazing view. We ended up being able to see the bald eagle! That was awesome because we saw him go hunting into the water! At night we would make smores & hot dogs on the fire pit. They tested great! Thanks again! ;)

Winter Relaxation

Peace and quiet and serenity - exactly what I needed. I just love the coziness of the cabin and the "beach side cottage" decor was such a welcome atmosphere in the middle of winter. I had the beautiful floor to cathedral ceiling fireplace blazing during my entire stay. If this had been a normal New England winter, I would have done some cross country skiing, skating, snow shoeing right out the door and accross the gorgeous lake (what a view). I'm a little relieved that I it wasn't a normal winter though, because it gave me the opportunity to totally relax. I had time to cook and paint (artist) and read. I imagine this to be a perfect cabin for a writer in the middle of winter too. Thank you to Rindy for providing a great escape.

Pleasantly Surprised

When it comes to on-line rentals, what you expect vs what you find can be hit or miss. We were impressed as soon as we arrived and knew we would have a great Thanksgiving vacation. The cottage is bigger than it appears in the photos, with plenty of room for myself, husband, 11 year old, and 10 month old twins. The owners were available as needed but yet gave us the privacy we were looking for. Overall, the ambience was perfect and all desired amenities are supplied. Highly recommended.
