Beautiful location, excellent hosts

Just back from an 11 night stay at Coastings - a very comfortable villa in a stunning location. The description and photos capture it accurately. The property is well designed, with comfortable internal accommodation (kitchen facilities are excellent, though we grilled almost all our meals outside), and we very quickly felt it was our home from home.
Outside, the upper covered verandah and lower deck both give wonderful views of sea, trees, flowers and hummingbirds. My favourite spot was at the end of the garden by a firepit - impossibly beautiful views of the bay, rocks, sea and green tree-clad slopes. This is definitely the perfect place to stay for anyone who loves natural beauty. Hummingbird sitings are a daily norm, but we were also visited by a pair of mot mots.
The helpfulness of owners Fred and Cindy also cannot be overemphasised. They went further than any other rental owners we have come across in helping to make our stay a great one - from buying in a couple of specific food items before our arrival (in addition to the generous food and drink supplies provided as standard), to offering advice and tips on local bays and beaches, sharing their own grown tomatoes and gifts of avocados, while never intruding on our sense of privacy.
Their two friendly and lovable dogs, Cleo and Toby, also made us feel very welcome, coming to see us in the mornings and evenings and always keen to join us on walks - whether to Bloody Bay, along the river or along local tracks. They were great fun!
One point to be aware of: there is a public beach facility in Bloody Bay. Though not itself as issue, and not visible from the villa, there was occasional music played there that can be heard from the villa. This does mean the peace and quiet is sometimes disrupted. However, this should not put you off. Most of the time it was quiet, and the setting of this property is so special - one of the most naturally beautiful places I have stayed.
There is plenty to do locally - ask about Gravel Beach - a tiny gem. And meals at the nearby Sunshine restaurant are highly recommended - tasty and often resulting in friendly chats with local residents.
If you love Tobago, you will love Coasting. If you have never been to Tobago, go there - it's a magical island and Coasting is the perfect place to enjoy it from.
