This is a great house,very confortable we stayed for 15 days and tried for some more time but of course it was already rented for the following day.There is nothing like cooking in a kitchen with a great view of the ocean,loved it.How about sitting in a hot tub listening to the waves hitting the shore.The house is very close to the trails and the beaches.Dont forget to watch for the whales as you sit on the deck with your morning coffee.One of the things we liked is it was so quiet you felt like you were the only ones around. We did most of our own cooking but the burritos from Lauras bakery are great.Do take in the Two Fish Bakery its one of the best.Actually if you are going on vacation to relax this is the house.

Living Roof is Amazing!

I wouldn't change a thing about our visit to the Living Roof house. Ken was very helpful, and the home has every amenity one could want. The weather was perfect, and the wildlife was plentiful (whales, jack rabbits, deer, humming birds etc...). There is really no reason to leave the house once you've loaded the fridge. We called in a massage therapist, and lounged about day after day. Everyone is ready to plan our next trip!

Sheer Perfection

I stayed at this utterly beautiful home and am counting the days till I can go back. It was actually even more beautiful than I imagined. (Perhaps that's because the pictures don't capture the sound of the surf at high tide pounding and churning around the arch rocks 100 feet away or because the visual beauty of this chevron shaped home with the living and breathing sod roof that actually rises gently but quite majestically right up and out of the bluff has to be seen to be appreciated!) The house is a gorgeous thing to behold and the owners obviously love and pamper their home. It is immaculate and very welcoming. The photography collection alone is worth the trip. The house has 2 wings and is so solidly and thoughtfully built that everyone has real privacy. The furnishings were just beautiful...it was really FUN to be in this house. We kept a fire roaring in the gorgeous fireplace...and there was plenty of wood in the garage. The kitchen was fantastic and the outdoor grill, a large Weber, is a cinch to use. We loved hiking over to Seal Beach and Walk-on Beach, driving to Mendocino, exploring Glass Beach, and exploring areas around Gualala. We cooked in but did have a great lunch at The Sea Ranch Lodge (and I mean great..fish tacos). The Lodge had great stuff in the store..including but not limited to beautiful clothing, things for the home, and beautiful books about The Sea Ranch. The supermarket on the west side of Route 1 in Gualala is very well stocked with anything a gourmet might need. Would I recommend the property to a friend? Positively! I sent pictures to lots of friends..they all want to go.

A wonderful vacation

I was married at the Sea Ranch Chapel last June and we all stayed at Living Roof House for a week. It was wonderful, my husband wouldn't even leave the house to go to the store. Everything you need is there, the views are to die for, the beds are super comfy, the arcitechture is amazing and sitting on top of the roof at night you see the entire starry sky. We hope to return this year and recommend it to everyone!

Best rental in Sea Ranch

This is, by far, the best rental that we have had in Sea Ranch. We have rented 6 or 7 houses-- all of which have something amiss. This house doesn't--the decor and style "wraps" you up, the kitchen is fabulous, the amenities wonderful and the outside space perfect. Great comfy chairs, even on the deck--wonderful to sit in after you get out of the hottub. And, of course you have the beautiful surroundings of Sea Ranch--the sea and hiking right outside you dooor. This house is worth the extravagance.
