Description of the Big Canoe vacation cottage rental
Deerfield Cottage is the perfect cozy mountain cabin just an hour north of Atlanta for couples and families to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Located at Big Canoe, North Georgia's most pristine and ecologically-oriented mountain community, this three bedroom/ two and-a-half bath cabin overlooks thick, tall pine forests that are home to wandering herds of deer and beautiful wild turkeys. Deerfield Cottage sits on its own private cul-de-sac on its own private street, Jewel Weed Turn, so there is ample parking for several families. The master bedroom sits on the main floor with its own private deck that includes a four-person hot tub with a private entrance to the bedroom and to the main living area deck. Big Canoe guests at Deerfield Cottage have access to the community golf course, pools, sandy-beach lake, small boats, sliding rock, 16,000 square-foot, modern fitness club with indoor Olympic pool and tennis and racquetball courts.

Big Canoe is 8 miles east of quaint Jasper, one hour north of Atlanta, 15 miles south of Ellijay, west of Helen and Gainesville, Georgia, all towns known for their charm and old Southern ways. Big Canoe itself is a unique ecological site for 4300 mountain homes within a protected mountain forest environment. The community offers its residents access to three beautiful and well kept lakes with only electric crafts to keep noise to a minimum. There is a 14,000 fitness club with the most urban facilities including sauna, steam, indoor pool, nautilus equipment, indoor racquet ball and tennis courts and exercise classes. There are also two 9-hole golf courses, restaurants and on-site small grocery stores and general goods stores as well as a non denominational chapel. During the summer months, a man-made beach offers recreational lake swimming and a large wet sliding rock for children. There are also two large, outdoor swimming pools with lifeguards. Big Canoe is 8 miles east.
