. Come spoil yourself. No long walks to the public beach area. An adults only retreat with use of owner's small private area just across the street. Comfortable, spacious and spotlessly clean three bedrm., two bath 1850 sq.' contemporary with 2 levels [ two unit home...owner lives in first level] of outstanding ocean and river views. Three decks, views from every room, a Florida room and a kayak landing area on the river. Listen to the surf ; watch spectacular sunsets; breathe in that refreshing salty air. No homes to the rear just beautiful sights of the river and birds. A camera, artist sketch pad or writers notebook go along with the surrounding ambiance. A quiet, Adult Only, seaside retreat awaits.

Absolute attention to cleanliness as well as creating a beautiful, comfortable environment that you deserve. This is an adult rental that screams relaxation in a custom designed seaside home. Whether you travel as one or four, you will feel at home.

If you want to spoil yourself, whether you're two adults or four, The Sea Rose will put a smile on your face and give you wonderful memories. For friends, couples, or sisters and brothers traveling together, there is plenty of room to wander and enjoy.

As you walk in the door.....: The first thing you will notice is the look and smell of cleanliness. Your smile will broaden as your eyes see the ocean and you hear the wonderful sound of the surf. You'll turn 180 degrees and marvel at the nature's display of a river cutting through tall marsh grass with egrets, geese and kayakers enjoying its meandering travels. Beach roses , wild and blooming, add bright color to this scene. Did you bring your camera?

Where to sit.....: So many great places to sit each with its own special view. You'll never feel you can not have your own space to read that book , play a game, take a nap or use the computer. It just is not possible in this well designed home not to feel each day an adventure of where you'll plop down for your special quiet time. Or if you want to invite the others, round them up and share the experience. The beauty of it all is, it is YOUR choice.

Sun or shade....: Have you ever been to a place where there is one deck...it is either too sunny or too much in the shade? That will not happen here. With three decks, there is always a place in the sun or a place in the shade. So if one of you can not take the sun, they have no problem. The multiple decks each have their own special view. The largest deck is the gathering place for eating out with table and chairs and umbrella as well as some comfy chairs. Rearrange them to your satisfaction . A gas grill awaits your culinary skills.

About Midge

Moody Beach and this very spot at Moody Beach has been in my family for three generations. The original was called 'Knotty Pine' cottage. In 1986 I purchased this from my mother and in 1987, using my love of designing homes, The Knotty Pine came down and The Sea Rose went from concept to reality.

I take immense pride in my home and spend endless hours [and money] maintaining it. I live in the one bedroom apartment on the first level. The rental was what I designed for my home but retirement in a recession...well, the best laid plans etc.

This is relatively new to the rental market and is an adult rental. I am not looking for lots and lots of renters. I am looking for the right renters....adults who appreciate a fantastic rental and treat it with care and respect. Would love to have renters who want to come back year after year....making it like a home away from home.

Having been in the real estate business for many years, I have always said that to be happy in one's home, it must reflect your your personality and embrace the core of your soul. A little deep I guess, but it is true even for a rental. It is a huge part of your vacation so it should be just right for you. If you want to be in a well cared for and spotlessly clean rental, one creative in design with vaulted ceilings and windows everywhere with views furnished for comfort and decorated in simple yet pleasing touches, this is it. If you wish you could have plenty of interior space and decks galore and absolutely no houses to the rear...if you crave sunsets, sunrises, places within to tuck away for a nap or read....if you like privacy.

Unique...everything about The Sea Rose is unique. List is as follows: a kayak landing in the Oqunquit River just steps from your door; views from every room; three decks with sun or shade always available; drop dead gorgeous sunsets ; comfortable top of the line Serta mattresses; A windowed Florida Room overlooking the nature reserve and river ; extra table for games or puzzles; four beds : beach chairs included and plenty of deck furniture also provided; extra large kitchen with 16' entertaining bar; full size washer/dryer and a clothes line; Quiet and respectful area and neighbors.

You may never want to leave The Sea Rose as rain or shine the views are so beautiful . But there is so much around to do. ...live theater at Ogunquit Playhouse, Marginal Way, Perkins Cove, trolley rides, Nubble Light, Kennebunkport shops and scenic drives, ocean fishing and boating, golf, antiques, shopping at LL Bean or Kittery Trading Post and shops, art galleries, art museums, whale watching,great restaurants, lobster-clams-seafood-all fresh-biking, surfing, birding or walking the 3 mile sandy beach. Grab a book, sit on the deck and RELAX. Just ask owner to plan your days or for directions or for where to fish.....owner lives in first floor apartment. Her goal is for you to have a great vacation .

Golf: Wells, York, Kennebunkport and Kennebunk have many great courses for avid golfers. If you like a more simple approach, Wells also does have a lovely par three course with a practice putting range. There is NO lack of courses within the area. Wells also has a driving range. So bring your clubs.

  • The payment procedure is as follows. 50% is due within 10 days of your reserving a period of time along with the application paperwork. The balance is due in full on or BEFORE May 1. Late payments will cancel your reservation. All payments must be in U.S. funds and with a bank check..no personal checks. Reservations made after May 1st, checks should be made out for the full amount .
  • If you find it necessary to cancel, the following will apply. All monies minus $275 will be returned if owner is able to re rent the entire time cancelled at the same price....money returned After owner receives this fee and check clears from new renter. The pictures displayed here are good, but they do not do the home justice. The minute you walk into the house you are in awe. It is open, airy, clean and just plain awesome. You have great views of the ocean and river. You can watch the sun rise from the front porch and the sun set from either of the two back decks or the sun room. The extra features of the home are wonderful and I hate to share that we loved our time there. Kind of want to keep it to ourselves, but really it is a great rental property. Midge is a sweet lady who is very, very friendly and helpful. Can't wait for next year!!

Yes, the Sea Rose is poetry at Moody Beach. Our stay last September was a real treat. The Ogunquit area offers so many activities – from restaurants to art galleries to concerts. And the Sea Rose was the perfect place to begin and end our day. Some days we didn’t even go anywhere. We just spent the whole day enjoying the sunrise over the ocean, a warm breeze on one of the decks, a stroll along the beach (a short walk away), and the sunset over the marshes. Everything we needed was at the Sea Rose. If you are a bit of a shutterbug, you’ll be kept busy photographing the rising and setting sun, the ocean surf, the moon and its reflection on the waves, the flowers and the birds in the gardens and over the marsh. We found the Sea Rose a perfect spot where we could curl up and read, providing relaxation and renewal.

Our first stay along Ocean Avenue was in 1981, and we have been coming back ever since. The discovery of the Sea Rose has added a new dimension of luxury and enjoyment to our visits. This property is carefully maintained inside and out, with everything you need from wine glasses to Wi-Fi. We felt immediately at home in the beautiful décor of the large, bright rooms. And the friendly owner welcomed us with lots of information on new things to do. We’re already planning our next stay!

We have been coming to Moody Beach for 20 years. Last year we discovered The Sea Rose and declared it the best experience yet. The property is absolutely gorgeous and beautifully maintained. Our favorite part was the choice of decks to relax on. When the sun was too hot on one, we would switch to another. The views from each were equally gorgeous- one of the ocean and two of the wildlife preserve in the back. An avid photographer, I got some amazing pictures of the sunsets.
The owner is wonderful. She provided extensive information to us before we even arrived. The property was pristine and she was a great resource for places to visit.
We simply cannot say enough. After 20 plus years of rentals in that specific area, we were absolutely thrilled with the property, the owner and the entire experience. The Sea Rose is a treasure!

Unbeatable Location

We have stayed in this beautiful sunny home many times in mid-June and October to avoid the heat and the crowds. It is tastefully furnished and the owner makes sure you have everything you need. The best and unequalized feature of this home is its location. There is a public walkway to the beach nearby and the advantage of this particular home is the large deck overlooking the Rachel Carson Wildlife Refuge at the back of the house. After our three-hour walk on the beach we spend the rest of the afternoon reading and sipping wine in the back waiting for the sunset while people in the beachfront properties, in order to enjoy the sun, have their BBQ on the deck or in their driveways on the street side. You get excellent value for your money as the cost of rental throughout the season is well below the market. You will definitely not be disappointed. Lucia and Jean-Yves. Canada
