Great Family escape and super relaxing

The owner of this property and the Realtor that manages it are both great and super informative. We stayed here a week during spring break 2013 and loved it. We got lucky and had 6 to 8 inches of snow and the kids had a blast. Its well centered between Franklin great drive tons of waterfalls (1 hour), Asheville caves(1 hour), a great little town and Chattahoochee Ski area is 25 minutes away as well. You won't be disappointed with this cabin.

Wonderful Holiday getaway!

We recently stayed at the Mountain Gem cabin and had a wonderful experience. John (realtor) and Geoff (owner) were helpful and very easy to work with. The cabin is all it promises to be. We slept 11 in the cabin comfortably and had one dog on the trip. The cabin is clean and comfortable with just about everything you need - enough sheets, pots, pans, dishes, silverware, etc - no need to pack any of that!
Be warned though, if it snows or gets icy, the drive up and down the mountain is a bit steep at points!

The hot tub, air hockey and fireplace provided plenty of entertainment at the cabin. If you venture out Cherokee, tubeworld, Cataloochee Valley are all close and wonderful trips!

All in all a wonderful visit!

My husband, our 4 month old daughter, and our 2 sweet pups loved our week at the Mountain Gem. The view was just what we were looking for and the hot tub was excellent! The location was perfect for day trips to different sights. We enjoyed going to see the elk in the morning and evening. The Cataloochee Valley is so close to the cabin - it was great! We had plenty of space in the cabin and it had what we needed for cooking. The big window wall was just perfect and provided nice views from the inside. We would definitely recommend it.

We had a wonderful week at Mnt Gem. We did lots of hiking in the Blue Ridge Parkway, zip lining with Wildwater Adventure Centers. My husband and son went golfing in Brevard and we loved that we were able to bring our dogs with us. I believe they enjoyed the vacation as well with lots of long walks on beautiful roads around the house. We hope to return in the spring if possible.

Great cabin and location! We will rent from the owner again. The cabin met all of our expectations. The weather was perfect for hiking, and the cabin is in close proximity to many points of interest (Blue Ridge Parkway, Smoky Mountain Park, Maggie Valley, Waynesville, Cherokee, Hendersonville, Asheville, Black Mountain and Tennessee). The owner (Geoff) was excellent to work with!
