Just a perfect place

My girlfriends and I spent a wonderful week in RI. Staying at this lovely little cottage was just absolutely perfect.
The rooms were very comfortable...with the ocean only a stone's throw away, we were lulled to sleep by it every night. Brilliant sunrises meant none of us even needed an alarm clock.
The kitchen was fully stocked with enough pots, pans and utensils for us to cook every night---a wonderful bonus since we revel in having the chance to sit down together and linger over a good meal. The deck is a great place to just spend time enjoying the view, good company and conversation.
The internet access was awesome to have since it made finding directions to places we were interested, and hours of operation, very easy to do. And while the TV was a great option---we never turned it on. :-) There was too much else to see and do.
We used the cottage as a staging area for our explorations of the state. History is nicely deep in RI. We could see things from museums on the native peoples, run by them as well, to homes predating the revolution. There were homes built by well to do merchants who made their money in the triangle trade (slaves for rum for other trade goods). There was an old water powered mill that still worked and was the foundation for the textile industry that would dominate the economy of the next hundred years---it also forged connection to the Southern States that would later bring the wealthy of the gilded age to RI where they would build fantastic summer homes.
There were some natural beauties to be seen---like sailing on the bay out of Newport, the step stone falls, rocky outcrops amended with light houses that still offer guidance to passing ships, gardens where shrubs have been manicured for decades to create exotic animal topiaries and a butterfly farm showcasing exotic species from the far flung reaches of S. American and Africa.
I would definitely recommend staying here. And I hope to some day be able to stay again.
