This bright and sunny four season home sits on three acres with 300 feet of frontage on Long Cove. A peaceful, quiet setting provides both solitude and ready access to great restaurants, art, and shopping. Property includes a main house, which sleeps four and a guest cottage, which sleeps two. The heart of this 1200 square foot home is the airy, window filled living/dining/kitchen, newly remodeled and furnished, with spectacular views. Open lawn gently sweeps down to the cove, inviting you to sit under a shade tree with a good book, put in a kayak, or play a game of horseshoes. You can stroll down the quiet private wooded lane through a cottage community with pristine cove views. Well equipped kitchen. Gas fireplace for foggy/cool mornings. Kayaks, outdoor hot tub and gas grill included.

There is lots to do here. Visit Monhegan Island, inspiration for artists throughout history and great hiking along the rocky coast or through Cathedral Woods, home of the fairies. Jump into Penobscot Bay at Drift Inn Beach or for a warmer freshwater dip, join the locals at the quarry. Browse the galleries for fine art and crafts. Bike into town for lobster out on the deck at Cod End. Take a short drive into Rockland to visit the Farnsworth Museum, known for its Wyeth collection , or to do some shopping.

A significant portion of each day, however, is likely to be spent reading, eating, or just hanging out on the deck or under a tree listening to the out of doors.

We spent the most romantic blissfull retreat at this house on a cove. The property is extremely spotless and well appointed. Super quiet with beautiful views of the water from every window and lovely grounds. The property affords total privacy. Simply bring your own canoe or kayake to access the other islands on the cove. Idealic in so many ways with a granite swimming hole right down the road. Slept late every morning. The only big decision of the day was which of the many lobster shacks we should hit that day. Big food area with lots of great restaurants and shops just 20 mintues away. Sheer bliss. Returned home restored and aching to go back. We already booked the house for 2008.
